The first time ever in my life my hub is on page 1 number 3 out of 24 million hits on google. Sorry to brag but everyone is at work and I will burst if I don't tell someone. My safe ice hub. Woooo Hoooo I am so excited bet I can get the driveway shoveled with no problem lol.
I've been on Google's first page numerous times. My hubs don't show up on the first page of when searching for various keyword combinations, but they show up high.
Use social bookmarking sites. Your pages will show up on the first three pages of Google search results a lot of the time.
Don't Burst! It must be mighty nice to have your hard work pay off this way It is always nice to see hard work pay off Congrats!
I almost burst. lol thanks for your kind words.
That's great, fishtiger! What keywords are you ranking for on that one?
Well Jeff if I am understanding your correctly ( and i may not be) I put in " ice is safe" in google and now its showing number 5 on page 1 out of 49 million results. woooo hoooo. Thanks Jeff.
Yes, that's what I was asking. That's great! You also happen to rank page 1 for [when the ice is safe] without quotes or anything, but the phrase "ice is safe" is the only one showing with any searches in the Google keyword tool.
It's always nice to see your own hubs in Google!
Oh that is so cool. The google keyword tool hmmm I will have to check that out. Thanks again.
EDIT Here's a HubPages video giving you some tips on using it:
Excellent thanks so very very much Jeff.
I just looked at the video and wow that's how you use it aye. Thanks Jeff now I am going to go play with the keyword tool.
It really is a great feeling indeed. So happy for you and yippee for more....
Good job! Congratulations!
Now see what additional thing(s) you did for this hub that are missing in others.
I will do that Ultimate Hubber thanks so much for the advice and all.
nice and congrats, thats an acheievement,
i have a page that shows up as the number one result, but because the title of the movie is a misspelled version of a popular word, you have to force google to search for what you TYPED and not what they auto-correct it to...which kinda sucks...
Its really great congratulation, its very inspiring after all its a result of hard work.
That's ice cool hard work and I'm so happy for you, too. You deserve to act the way you did. For me it's just the right way to express your gratitude. Congratulations!
However, large number of my hubs remain in the first page of Google and yahoo search.
I think it is because of unique content. I did not know about key word research until recent past. I have started it since few days after repeated suggestions in various forum threads. I have yet to wait to see results.
Tagging, content and links are behind my success.
Congratulations! Had the same revelation myself at the start of the week, keep it up!
Fishtiger, it is an exciting feeling - but the big question is, does anyone type in "when the ice is safe" or "ice is safe" when they're looking for that subject on Google?
If you pick an unusual combination of words, it's very easy indeed to get on page 1 of Google for that title. But it doesn't get you any traffic, unless people are searching for it.
If I type in "when is ice safe?" or "when is the ice safe for fishing" or even "safe ice fishing", your Hub doesn't show up at all. I'm no fisherman, but I'd think those phrases are more like what people would type in to get an answer, so they would make better titles.
Yup you are right. But that hub was one of my first hubs. I really didn't know much about keywords. Jeff gave me some advice about them as well and I thank you for pointing that out to me too. It still was exciting and I will do better on my hubs with the keyword. Thanks again.
congrats fishtiger58, that is truly something to brag about
congratulations, it's nice to see you so much happy and excited.

We all know that there's so much competition to rank in search engines, and we've all heard that 'content is king', but what does that *really* mean? What it means is that Google is now placing much more importance on the authority, authorship, relevance and uniqueness of the content we create, very...

Who thinks we should ask to reinstate a page dedicated to locating hubbers by hubber score. Beginning with 100-0.We once had such a page here that made the hubber score much more relevant, and we could at least get a chance to locate the top hubbers who most definitely deserved high praise for...

Since I finished the apprenticeship, and after umpteen updates and changes made on HP, my traffic has never picked up. I can't remember the last time I saw any more than 40 views a day. My average at the moment is more like 30. The articles I worked long and hard to produce, sit there doing nothing...
