I'm going, but I really have no idea what it's about or what to expect.  Anyone know any more about it?

I think I have a fairly good idea by keeping track of what Maven is doing but no, not 100%. I am 100% excited about going though and appreciate what they're doing to present us with, what I believe is, an opportunity. I look forward to meeting you.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and the other Hubbers headed to Whistler too!  I'm also curious how many Hubbers are attending?

I am going. I love Whistler (Vancouver is absolutely stunning) and am very excited to learn about opportunities with Maven.

No business, but planning a couple of days after the conference in Vancouver, just looking around and being a tourist.

Also flying out Tuesday and staying over an extra night hopefully since it takes a full day for me to get there what with the trip from Vancouver.  Anyone else going from the Midwest? Has anyone gotten a schedule yet besides just the part about Friday morning?

I'm flying in Wed. morning from OH. I have my flight schedule and info provided by the MCC link. I'm guessing we'll get the remaining details this week.

I'll be flying in Wed from OH as well! Looking forward to meeting everyone. Too bad I have prior commitments and could not take any extra days to visit the area.

Natalie, I haven’t received a schedule either. But I remember seeing it via the link in the first email.

  7. purl3agony profile image85
    purl3agonyposted 6 years ago

Dan - what MCC link are you referring to?  I've been in contact with the travel agent, but haven't really received confirmation.

I'm sure I'm going to regret not planning some extra time in Vancouver, but I just didn't get my ducks in row to plan for it.

I had a link in my initial email. No?

Looking forward to meeting everyone.  Do you think we'll get a list of hubbers that are attending?

    2. Glenn Stok profile image95
Glenn Stokposted 6 years agoin reply to this

Donna, the travel agent sent me the final flight itinerary for my approval, which I gave. But I haven’t received confirmation either.

That link Dan mentioned was in the first email, as I recall.

  8. purl3agony profile image85
    purl3agonyposted 6 years ago

Sorry, I thought you meant that you had received travel info through some link.  But I assume you just mean the conference link.  Yes, I hope we receive more info this week.  I'm looking forward to learning more!

I wish I had planned an extra day or two to check out Vancouver after the conference. But the flight itinerary was already approved. I wasn’t thinking when they asked me for my flight preferences. However, I do look forward to meeting all of you. It would be nice if they provided a list of those attending. I’m sure there will be more than those of us in this thread.

Does everyone have their arrangements for this? I don't have flight info yet.

I already have my final flight confirmation. She said the hotel reservation will be sent soon.

Did you answer the email giving your flight preference? That's how it starts. Then if it's good, they book it for you.

What's this all about? Haven't heard anything about it although as I am not in the US maybe it is a US invite only thing...

Cre8torposted 6 years agoin reply to this

You do have to reside in North America. Robin mentioned that in another thread. I really can't say beyond that what criteria there was because I don't know. I just know they started with some and have mentioned the possibility of more in the future.

I'll be there watching via the live link they've set up for those of us who don't live in North America.

What's that you say? No live link? I could've sworn we were a global community.

    Miebakagh57posted 6 years ago

That's one good thing about the www. and the internet. I have not lived in North America, or India, or Japan, or China. But the linking www. enable me and others travel virtually down there.

No. "Whistler anyone" can mean the same thing as the whistleblower. Now, is it a US thing? It is everywhere.

Haha. Sorry Miebakagh. It's Whistler, Canada and some of us are taking a trip there is all. I was just looking to see who else was going.

You said earlier that you are flying in on Tuesday. I am too, but arriving after midnight. I sure hope the shuttle is available at that time. They didn't confirm the shuttle to the hotel yet.

I still don't have any kind of info.  I'm getting a bit concerned as I've sent a number of messages over the past 3 days but haven't received a reply.  Did you give them actual flights and they approved them or vice versa?  I thought they gave us the flights and we approved them.  I don't know what else to do.  Does anyone have a phone number for any of the folks involved in the arrangements?  Thanks!

    1. Glenn Stok profile image95
Glenn Stokposted 6 years agoin reply to this

They asked me to give them my preferences. I sent them a complete flight itinerary that I chose and they approved it. Then they booked it and sent me the booking confirmation.

Have you checked your spam folder?

I’ll send you the contacts I have been in touch with by email. I'm not sure it's allowed to post it here. Look for it.

I posted this in another thread.  I was invited but cannot attend. I am very interested in what they are offering though.  For those of you who attend, please come back and let us know in the forums what the program they will be laying out looks like. IDK if those of us invited but unable to attend will be included in whatever program they will be laying forth or not, but I would be interested in knowing some details just in case.

Safe travels to all of you.

Natalie Frankposted 6 years agoin reply to this

I'm sure we'll all be happy to fill others in on what occurs, what sessions were held and what programs they might be thinking of laying our or changes they might make when we return.  Not sure what type of organization there will be in terms of HP folks getting together perhaps or a chance for us to come up with questions we might want to ask.  Will touch base after return.  Thanks for the well wishes.

What is the conference about? Why would Maven host a conference?

      1. Cre8tor profile image87
Cre8torposted 6 years agoin reply to this

I can only speculate about the conference content but I believe it's intent is to strengthen the foundation of what they're trying to do with HP and Say Media and independent writers.

I imagine they want to meet top Hubbers and discuss things going forward. It does seem like a way to show to people they mean business. I remember somebody mentioned that one of the first emails said something about Hubbers being experts in their subjects.
