Just curious if people are still using Flipboard, if so, whether they are getting traffic from there and how often the flip articles other than their own into their magazines. Wondering if it's worth it to spend time searching for articles to flip so have a good base to flip my own. Thanks!
I use it very occasionally but don't think it brings much traffic these days.
I still post articles there but rarely flip others. Traffic is almost nothing but I like being able to save things on that site that I can go back and enjoy reading later. Their problem is that they have done a poor job of crediting and cataloging their information, so people just stop reading.
I can’t recommend it anymore. I updated my Flipboard Tutorial hub a month ago about a terrible bug they have now that credits the wrong authors. I even deleted my Flips that listed another author’s name.
Thanks Glenn. I had no idea there was an issue, but when I took a look, almost all of my articles had other people's names on them. I just deleted the entire account. It's too bad that people who start sites like this don't have the tech skills to run them properly because they can be a good thing when properly handled.
I have deleted my account too - there were articles credited to other people!
That's why I added the warning a month ago when I first discovered that problem. They haven't fixed it and flips are all getting credited for other peoples hubs.
I tried to delete the account three times but was unable to do so, so I individually deleted my own hubs. What a mess! I missed your warning but am glad you repeated it here.
I clicked on one of my links (that had someone elses name on it) and it still went to my hub. Do you think I am not getting credit for that traffic because of that incorrect name?
The link is okay Mark, but do you really want someone else's name on the listing as the author?
If the person clicks on the link and reads the article they can see who the author is.
This is the same discussion as the one about that craft site. Do you really think it is wise to throw away page views because of vanity?
That's a personal decision. And besides, views from Flipboard have virtually crawled to a halt.
Any way to delete? Tried with no success.
I see that even though I deleted the account, the magazine's are there!
Same here. I deleted all of my own posts but the others still exist, even though I tried several times to delete the entire account and even though the site informed me that the delete was successful. Maybe it takes 24 hours?
Glad I came across this thread. I checked my Flipboard account and noticed many of my articles were credited to other people too. I deleted my account. Thanks for the feedback.
I have been playing with mix.com. Having some positive results but it in single digits per day.
I get maybe 1 or 2 a day from articles that I posted last year. I tried to post some of my newer articles and none were ever placed on the appropriate topic page. No HP Niche sites are ever present in my feed, so as far as I can tell we were banned from there.
I think it is now a waste of time.
I created an account back when people were talking about the site on the forums here, but never used it much. I found the site difficult to use and lost interest. I also doubted its usefulness early on. At any rate, looks like it kind of turned out my instincts were correct.
Good instincts. Put it in there with the Bubblews files!
I just tried to login to my Flipboard account and it's been so long that I can no longer remember my login name or my password... oh well (shrugs)
I didn't notice any benefits. It appears to be a hard news platform. Not HP material.
Thanks for all the feedback. I didn't realize it was that big of a problem but haven't been using it the past year or so. I will go back and see what they have done in terms of crediting and possibly delete my account as well. Does anyone else use other social media channels or sites to publicize articles other than the old standbys?
I already wonder why other names credited to my posts. Thanks for all the comments here. I will check up my Flipboard account and maybe delete it.

I have an article that was put on the "Letterpile" niche site. It has the button to add it Flipboard like the main HP site and the other niche sites but when I try to add it to one of my magazines it says, "Can't add the website". Is this a glitch or can we not link...

Why is there no longer an option to share Hubs on Twitter? It looks like it's been replaced with Flipboard, which seems like a weird choice.

How are you guys getting Flipboard traffic? Do you construct your magazines and then that is pretty much it and just wait for people to find it? Any good promotion tips?

I have a flipboard account. I created magazines. Flipboard says I have 20 articles posted to the site. Where are they? I'm trying to see them so I can move them into magazines..

Flipboard is a bit like Pinterest, as far as I can tell. I get traffic from it occasionally and am wondering about trying it.

I just received a pleasant surprise while checking my stats, which I admit I do more often than I should. But one of my best performing hubs got 10 times the amount of traffic it usually receives, from 200-300 to over 3300. This has happened before but I figure it was a share that begot more...
