I just answered a Q&A question today about where a specific product could be bought. I gave general advice about where to source it.
Is there any reason why we can't add include an Amazon capsule with answers to such questions as an alternative to or in addition to the ad that appears below?

You can put a link to a product in your response. Just include the URL. The same rules for products in articles apply to your responses in Q&A.

Kristy - if there is just a URL then the hubber (and HP) won't receive anything if someone buys the product of uses the link to go to Amazon and buys something else will they?

Presumably the URL would have to be in the same format as URLs in hubs with the HubPages tag at the end, but wouldn't show up as an orange link with an Amazon icon.

Go to one of your articles and open an Amazon link in a new window. When you do, you will see a URL like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A … cct1240-20
(This is from one of my articles.)
You can see that it has the hubpages account at the end of the URL.

I think it's great that we can add Amazon links to Answers, but I wonder if HP might want to improve the Q&A text editor before advising people it is okay to do this. Presently, there is no easy way to create proper anchor text or to add a nofollow tag to a link.

HP is so afraid of affiliate links hurting the niche sites that editors snip affiliate links from 2000-word Hubs. Surely there has to be concern for an affiliate link in a 100-word answer without proper formatting or a nofollow tag.

Would it not be better to fix up the text editor and have links automatically convert to the 60/40 shared split with the Amazon icon as they do in our Hubs?

Agreed, plus provide the facility to add images.

It would probably be heading that way, but to keep the layout of the question and answer page simple, bulleted and numbered lists and images would probably be sufficient.
