Hi Hubbers, I have edited this article 3 times now. But I really do not know why it is un-featured. Maybe your reading could help me understand better how to get it featured and point out the mistakes I am making. Thank you for your help

Will you please give feedback on my article Cutting and Applying Crown Molding and Cornice. What can I do to improve? Thanks!

      Hi there,

I'd suggest breaking up the steps more clearly. Imagine trying to read this on a phone. In fact, you should do that thing right now smile So use numbered steps.

Do you really need to tell people to get off their ladder to do the measuring? When giving instruction, fewer words are better.

Proofread: "and will your guide for application.." "...has been mixed up thick enough that it wall take the weight of each piece." Read it out loud, that will help you pick up the typos.

Is it possible to get more step-by-step photos? To be honest, if I were undertaking something like this for the first time, I'd be watching videos in preference to reading because I'd need the visual references.

      Good luck and nos dda.

Thank you so much. The steps you point out are making sense. Then I am reading others comments and a picture is forming where there are other mistakes also, preventing the hub from being featured. Have a great day, and thanks again for your help

First, I would love you to come to my house and put up crown molding as pictured in your images. It looks fabulous, and it's a skill that defeats me.

Just a guess, but is the images why you are not passing QAP? If the images are your own, then note that. If they are not, are they Creative Commons licensed? If not that could be the problem.

I think the most important thing you can do to make this featured, and to gain some readers who might backlink it, is to make it clear. Follow Bevs advice and number the steps.
Your article is thorough, but very hard to follow step-by-step. Numbers would help a lot.

As the article is 4 years old, did it used to be featured? All my articles that are not featured (they all used to be) suffer from a lack of traffic, which eventually gets them unfeatured. Sometimes I make minor changes but if they don't pick up any traffic they still end up unfeatured again eventually.

      Hello Polly
Yes the article used to be featured, but looking at it prior to recently editing, it did look dreadful. Thanks for sharing your experiences. It makes sense that the information needs to be captivating to an audience who is interested ion the subject. Have a great day and thanks for commenting

I just want to thank all you guys who looked at my article and provided me with your expert feedback. I must say, to describe such a DIY task was one the most difficult I had ever attempted to write (the video shows all the steps and is straight forward) but to put into words, what an effort I must say. Have a great day you all. And happy Hubbing
