    Hi fellow Hubbers!

I am relatively new here, and one of my recent articles did not pass the Quality Assessment Process (QAP) required for publication.

Do provide your suggestions and feedback so that I can improve its quality:

Hi, Rick. The link that you shared goes to a 404: Page does not exist message. I think you have to go to the email that HubPages sent when they told you that the article wasn't featured and share the link that they provided.

        Hi Alicia,

Thanks for the message. I have actually used the link that I received in the e-mail, and is able to open it. Could you please check once more?

I enjoyed reading your article and learning about the service that you describe. I'm afraid I didn't notice any obvious reason why the article isn't featured. Maybe someone else will notice something that I missed. I'll list the problems that I did see.

The subtitles for the text capsules should be written in title case. The space before some of the subtitles looks odd. I saw some punctuation errors in the article, so proofreading should be helpful. It would probably be better to use the word "article" instead of "hub" so that readers know what you mean. The second sentence in the second text capsule sounds odd to me.

I wonder whether the photos are legal to use, since they show a company's symbol (I assume) and recognizable people. It might be helpful to edit the capitalization in the bio at the top of the article.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback Alicia!

Will look into your comments and make the changes that you suggested. And yes, I was a bit skeptical about using the photos. I'll probably try removing them to see if that is the issue.

      Hi Rick,

The issue is that your article reads like an ad for the app. HubPages is not a place to promote outside apps, services, products, or websites.

        Hi Christy,

        Thanks for the clarification.

I was merely trying to put down a review of the app based on my experience with it. Would removing the details pertaining to payment information resolve this issue?

        Thanks,
        Rick

You would have to provide a balanced review. What are some cons for the product or features it lacks or could do better? Why should readers pay a $10+ subscription for this service instead of using one of the many free options on the market? What are some alternative apps that provide similar services and why is this one better?

You will also need to demonstrate more personal experience with the app. What features do you use the most. Which ones could you do without? In what situations do you use it? Is it good for karaoke at parties or only if the participants are long distance? Should readers decide they'd rather use a free version, can you recommend any free apps that do similar things?

What we are looking for in a review is a well-rounded article that is geared toward informing the reader about the advantages and limitations of a product and helping him/her decide if it will work, not a review that tells readers a product is perfect and they should go buy it now.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Christy!

But wouldn't this be more of a 'critic' review? Aren't user reviews allowed to be a bit biased? smile

It will definitely take up a lot more time and thought process to include all the above-mentioned points. So I will probably put this on hold for now, and re-edit it once I am out of my hectic work schedule.
