I've had multiple requests from my readers to offer more social sharing options (i.e. Twitter, Mix, Tumblr, Flipboard, etc) so they can more easily share my articles. I think if we make it easier for readers to share articles, we'll all benefit from more traffic from a wider variety of social media platforms.
Do you think adding more social buttons on articles will make it on Hubpages' near future plans?
We actually used to have many more social sharing options on articles, but our data showed that they were hardly ever used. We eventually kept only the ones that readers used frequently in order to get our pages to load faster (something that benefits all readers).
Most browsers have built in sharing options these days, so many users are using those instead of on-page options anyway.

This is awful. The new sharing buttons are fine, and they were great on the side of the hub where they were very visible. Even at the bottom of the hub would be fine. But at the top? Our hubs are sure to get fewer shares with the sharing buttons in this location. How many readers are going to read...
