Hi there,
A few things to take note of:
Your title should reflect your content. In other words your potential reader needs to know what the article is about. If you aren't going to change it, it needs a question mark.
Your intro is a little odd. No-one is asking where you invested your money because the title is not clear that the article is about investing. If you are assuming people land on this article after reading the others, don't. Articles should be completely stand-alone. It's okay to link them, but don't rely on one to provide the vital information for the next.
All your text is in one text capsule. You can use more, and that allows you to add relevant sub-titles.
The article is also too short. Should be around 1,000 and upwards. Why don't you condense all you have written into one or two in-depth, informative hubs?
It's a little too personally focussed. HubPages is looking for informative, magazine-style articles. It would be better if you took your story and turned it into a 'how-to'.
The images seem to be random. How do they work with the content?
Have you looked through the articles in the Learning Center? Click Help, top right, to navigate there. There are many resources there.
Good luck.
Thank you! I will go make some changes in the next few days with your suggestions.
Oh, the picture is of The Million Dollar Highway.
Hubpages has a global readership. I'm in the UK. I had no idea
Yes, good point. What makes sense to me, might not to everyone. Thanks for pointing that out! Very helpful:)
I'm in the US and still don't know what that is.
It is a highway in Colorado that was very expensive to build, and is on the list of top ten most dangerous and scenic roads in the United States. The rumor is that is cost a million dollars to build in the early 1900's. The other rumor is that the locals say they wouldn't drive it in the winter, even for a million dollars!
Ah... a dangerous road. Very apt for an investment article
I would question the point of this hub. It says how you and most people start knowing almost nothing about inventing but then you read books and maybe join a group. Without actually suggesting specific books and groups--does this help people? Also would someone starting now start with books?
I was afraid of it being spam if I mention the book titles. Thoughts?
If you didn't write the book, it's not spam. You can even make an Amazon affiliate link.
And, all those exclamation marks. They should only be used with exclamations such as Wow! or Bang!
I think it is okay when quoting Bart
"Caramba!"
