Hi Everyone. I am new to HubPages so am open to any and all suggestions. But I also have a question. Are the hubs you post totally unique to HugPages or are you posting your original work that you have also posted elsewhere on the web? Thanks in advance for your responses.
Julie
Hi Welcome! My hubs are totally unique to hubpages and I prefer to not post them anywhere on the web. I do however try to drive traffic to them through other websites by posting a blurb about the subject and then provide the hubpages link.
Hope that helps :-)
You'll get flagged if you post articles you've already posted elsewhere. Hubs need to be original.
Hey Julie! Welcome to the Hubs the secret to success here is bake lots of cookies and share them!
All work according to TOS of HubPages has to be original content. If it is duplicated from some other place, HubPages won't allow you to publish.
Welcome to HubPages and I hope you enjoy your time while you're here.
That's not "exactly" true. I have three or four out of a total of 106, that are duplicate content because they appear in other places on the web. They are my original writing (not copied from someone else). They can be published, but they will not be highly ranked by HP or Google.
Hi Julie; welcome to HubPages. Mine are original to HP; not too sure about others, though.
welcome to HubPages..
I write articles only on hubpages.
Hi and welcome Julie!
You'll find me mostly here on HP though I have many backlinking sites.
Read the TOS and FAQ's-- HubPages is looking for original work-- and it benefits you to post new material.
Mine are unique to hub pages as well. I was under the impression that content had to be unique to hub pages. It could not be anywhere else or it would be considered duplicate content and your hub would be flagged.
Does anyone else remember reading this?
It is however, o.k. to have links to drive traffic to your hub.
Sage
Welcome, the way I understand it, only original work is allowed here, duplicate content gets flagged I believe
Hubpages has software to detect duplicate content and they'll let you know.
The advantage to Hubpages is that you own your work, so if you decide to publish you stuff somewhere else, you can just delete it from Hubpages.
Sorry to intrude. I am also new to HupPages.
Is writing on the same topic, but not total "copy & paste" from another site consider "duplicate content"?
Depends on how well you do that. You certainly can write on the same topic and even include the same factual information, but just changing a few words will not be enough.
Welcome to Hub Pages. What Rochelle says is quite true. I find it easier to just write new articles. They can be on the same topic even, but rewriting is just too much work
Welcome to HubPages. I am pretty new myself and I am glad to see everyone is saying original and unique!

Hi. I am finally getting around here. Registered in Jan but JUST getting going. Life's been busy. Before I do something silly, is it permissable/acceptable to repurpose your own articles here? I would like to make a suggestion to the TEAM here on HUB Pages. I feel that it would be a positive improvement here on the HUB, if all of the activity that is perpetuated by Hubbers, were made known. For instance... apparently - anyone can go around giving thumbs UP or DOWN to a fellow...

Hello, here's something I've been wondering about for a while.I have a few articles on another site, which has recently announced that it's no longer going to pay international contributors. So I'm thinking it would be a good idea to move a couple of them over to HubPages (where we're...

I have been harassed by hubpages for quite awhile. Some of my Hubs have been controversial and I think they are trying to get me kicked out, but they are accusing me of duplicate copy, which is totally untrue. I write all my own articles. I do research but never ever do I copy and paste in my...
