Wouldn't it be cool if we could have a weekend convention for HP writers? Have a chance to meet and have a drink and laugh and commiserate? I'm thinking Vegas.
They've done it before. I see no reason why they can't do it again.
Cool idea, but I'd be afraid to attend, out of fear that all of the Indian spammers I've been making fun of lately would band together and show up to kick my a**.
Good idea, but I'm a writer and so don't have the wherewithal to travel more than couple of hundred kms from my home. If I could afford to travel, I think Las Vegas would be the last place I'd want to visit. I went into a casino once and was amazed to see a place of entertainment filled with grim-faced people not having fun.
That's true -- maybe we should all meet next year at Burning Man...
I find the opposite. Being a writer has given me more opportunity to travel than I had with other jobs.
Good morning green mind. How many hubs are require to attend the conference. It is a great idea. Some companies give youa big travel discount if you travel as a writer.
I do believe that last time Maven paid, but you must be loved by them for them to do so.
I'm in if Maven will pay expenses from the UK!
Alas, last time they restricted it to writers only in the US. I believe it also had mostly to do with facebookzoo; might be worth reading the reviews on that.
Everyone who went to that conference in the Canadian wilderness came back much changed, lol. I suspect pods were involved.
A young Paul Edmondson is pictured below.
Paul is in the pod.
And I believe this was when Paul was single, which would make that a bachelor's pod.
I went to one in Houston, once.
I didn't really learn much.
I asked about the religious posts because they were very, very unpleasant and horrible. I was told that 'people seemed to like it.'
A writer's convention sounds lovely to me! I could totally use that kind of motivation. I'd say in California, by Hubpages Headquarters

I have. It happened actually very randomly and unexpectedly. I was away at a work convention (believe it or not) and was in a relaxed state of mind, and the lighting was a bit low as we were inside a convention hall with no windows in particular. I began seeing these waves of transparent light...

I can't find the original mile-long thread surrounding the disabling of comments, but I find it extremely ironic that in today's (1/27/2021) newsletter, entitled "Bask in Apricity", the Pro Tip states this about fiction and poetry writers:"What does it take to be a successful fiction...

diversity?I never could understand why Republicans believe that if you showcase a black brown or female it is proof positive that the party is diverse. Black, brown or female faces does not talk to the ideology, platform and policies, which are what most of us are interested in, Do the...

When an article is published, it is exposed to the general public at large. As a writers' community, it would be really helpful if we could read each others' articles so we can make suggestions on grammar, content, and organization BEFORE publication becomes available to the general public.Other...
