    Hi Hubbers,

I often get this generic message on my hubs that they “could be featured” but need some changes first.  By featured do they mean something different than just “published”?

My current article linked here, has some links which are to research or my other work.  Nothing like amazon or spammy elements.  The pictures are all my own.  I would love to find out if I have linked too much in general or how to link successfully so it doesn’t become regarded as spam or “overly promotional”.

    Thanks,

    ~ Yuliss

      Hi there,

      I have some suggestions:

Place your reference links at the end of the article. HubPages doesn't want you to send people off the site.

Remove the bold/italicized/upper case text. It's not necessary.

      Proofread carefully. Check punctuation.

What is 'this blog'? If you've published this text elsewhere, you cannot duplicate it here.

Remove the link to 'infants'. If you need to reference your other article, then use its full title.

Remove the link to 'best family dogs'. You cannot promote another website.

I don't understand the section headed, "Some "Aces" Are Beyond Parental Control" The text doesn't seem to reflect the subheading. There are punctuation issues there too.

The next section is off-topic. Your article is about family dogs, so you should stick to the topic.

Change the subheading 'Conclusion' to something more interesting. And, in that section, you refer to 'this post'. We don't write posts as HubPages is not a blogging platform; they are articles.

I also think you should go through the article and tighten up the writing. And perhaps soften the tone a little. You are writing for parents and they like a 'friendly voice'.

This is a really interesting topic to write about (I have six dogs) and you could make this article into something really good with a bit of work.

      Good luck

Edit: I had a quick look at your profile and notice that only one of your dog articles has been moved to PetHelpful. That is the network site where they should be, so all your articles need some work - give them a good pruning and then submit one every 14 days to PetHelpful.

Thank you very much for your support, theraggededge.  I will tweek the article according to your suggestions.  This was extremely valuable feedback since I would never have figured out how to link and reference properly without hearing from you.  Thanks again!
