Using Amazon Capsules in Posts

So... I just read somewhere on the forum where it says to not use Amazon capsules inside posts but to use text links instead.

I just checked Amazon.s FAQs but couldn't seem to find this there. I'm hoping this isn't true as I only recently (just yesterday) added Amazon capsules to all my posts.

The reason why it is better to use text links is because if people have ad blockers enabled, they won't see the capsule, but they will see the link. Also editors are more likely to snip capsules than links. Inline links look more natural than capsules.

Oh okay. I take it it's not against Amazon's policies to use the capsules then. Thank God for that. However, I still will take the time to go edit some of my articles. Thanks a lot for the response.

I added Amazon capsules to my first article, but had trouble getting it through the QAP until another hubber suggested deleting them. It went through then and I haven't used Amazon capsules since.

Wow, Amazon must really frown at using these capsules then.

Amazon has nothing to do with whether we use capsules or not. It's HubPages that discourage their use. I believe they are mostly hidden by adblockers, therefore inline text links are more effective. Well, usually, they are. We haven't seen any Amazon earnings all month.

No, Amazon does not frown on the capsules.   It's HubPages' choice.

A few years back, HubPages was penalised by Google for being too "spammy"- meaning that Hubs contained too many affiliate links and advertisements.   Naturally enough, they reacted by becoming very sensitive about the number and types of links they allow.

Rightly or wrongly, they believe that the sales capsules are more likely to be seen as 'spammy' than a link.

Personally, I wonder why on earth they don't just delete the capsule, and that way no one can use it.  I wonder if it's part of their agreement with Amazon that they provide a sales capsule as an option?

Yea, deleting that option would solve the issue, instead of snipping posts.

I recently discovered that the Amazon capsules in a lot of my posts were snipped and it wasn't a happy discovery for me at all.

I'd relaxed thinking those posts contained my Amazon links only to find out a few weeks later they'd been removed.

            Maybe you're using them incorrectly?

It would be worth adding the Amazon products back into those Hubs, but this time use text links, not the Amazon capsule.

Be aware that if you just mention something and link to it, it'll get snipped.   You have to recommend the product, and say why you're recommending that particular brand or model.

Yea, I got to know later on I can add the Amazon affiliate link as a text. Thanks though for mentioning it
