Some lighthearted, messing around during these difficult times.

What is your Uber score? Mine is 4.9 out of the proverbial 5.0. Apparently one of them didn't like me. big_smile

Where can I find my Uber score?

If you open the app there is a symbol with three bars at the top right.  When you tap it the score is just under your name.

Thanks!  No wonder I couldn't find it.  I don't have a score.  Maybe because I have only used Uber 3 times?

I think you need a certain number because they try and keep it anonymous who gave any particular score.

Looks like I haven't earned that second decimal point yet. I am saddened. big_smile

I've never been in an Uber.

Prices are the same as Yellow Cab. No voice contact. One presses a few buttons and then can watch the car coming to you via the real-time map.

I've never been in a yellow cab big_smile I'm in the UK, in a small village. There is a local taxi firm but I've never used it. I'm sure there is a plethora of Ubers in the city.

Sorry, it was just the Uber score thing. So Uber rates you? Like an eBay transaction or a promiscuous lover in their little black book?

        I'm missing out big_smile

I think the whole forum is descending into chaos, ha ha.

It sounds very wrong to me. Before long the delivery guy is going to be giving us a score based on what we order on our pizza.

Yep, it is scary. Today's world is a fishbowl. Here's a good one, do you have a Facebook account? Turns out they put cookies on the user's computer that tracks and reports every website you visit. As a writer, I've visited all sorts of nefarious websites, I can only imagine what FB thinks of me.

That's one of the reasons 1.I hardly ever used my FB account and 2. why I closed it completely a couple of years ago.

FB even listens in. I was on my laptop and talking about something to my hubby, can't remember what it was now, and a little bit later, there were ads on FB for that very thing. Disturbing.

And every time I buy something online, I get a request to complete a damn survey. Which I delete.

Not just the forum, the world. By the way, A few days ago someone made a big purchase on one of my Amazon links ( not an item I was advertising directly )... I  understand that  some people have a good reason for needing this product and I am not demeaning anyone who may be afflicted with incontinence, but I am wondering if the person who ordered $170 worth of adult diapers just ran out of toilet paper rolls.

Yep, just like eBay. Each driver rates each passenger. Each passenger rates each driver. Uber reports both averages to both the drivers and the passengers. I'm not keen on judging a person as to what kind of human being they are, nor should we in this situation. I always give them a 5. They get me from point A to point B and they are not mean to me, that's all I ask. big_smile

Yep, the forums are a mess. It's what makes the occupants so lovable.

I don't think they learn much about one another as human beings. The driver gets a high rating if he shows up promptly and gets you where you are going with a minimum of hassles. The passenger gets a good rating if they are where they are supposed to be, and they pay and tip adequately.

For most of the people it hovers in the range 4.8 to 5.0 then it is also linked to the behaviour and tips.

I think the great majority of people realize you just give 5/5 unless they were a raging asshole.  It is rare to have a low score without doing something to deserve it -- it just might help if there was a way to tell people what it is.

I've used Uber twice and don't even remember the password.

You guys are talking about FB and tracking you around, well when I open a new tab on my phone (Chrome) I get a list of news stuff that I am interested in based on what I have clicked on in the past and they very often give me one or two news articles based on shows I am watching on Netflix.

They should not be tracking me on the browser. I even have Ghostery and Adblock, I do not mind if they track my searches, but tracking what I do on other sites is just creepy. I have never Googled anything related to the series I watch on Netflix.

My Uber score, I suspect, is zero as I've never used the service. I think the Uber score has as much utility as the Hub Score that is so often queried in this forum.

I guess if a driver or passenger has a low score the other party can refuse the ride. If not, it's just like the hub score xD

Indeed, as a rider you will wait longer to get a car--maybe never get one.
Drivers under 4.6 get investigated and often fired.  That's why scoring them under 5 is a punk move unless they did something terrible.
