    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!

      Hi there,

What are your qualifications for presenting this information?

      Where are the references?

There is a mix of writing styles within the article, as if some is copied from elsewhere. Your own writing shows grammatical errors and certain phrasing, but other parts are written in perfect English.

Sorry to be harsh, but I'm of the opinion that people writing about the virus on HubPages in this fashion are just jumping on a bandwagon. Most do not have any relevant qualifications that would allow me to trust what they are saying. I'd sooner go to an official source.

        Hello there,

First of all, thank you for your reply and for finding the time to give me feedback.

I am actually new to HubPages and this is my first time writing an article. Initially, I added some links to references and official sources from where I obtained my relevant data. But, my article did not pass the QA test and someone told me here that my article should not contain links to other articles. That is why, in the second attempt, I delinked all of the text. However, I will add references now separately.

Secondly, I am not a medical scientist, but I am a part of a group here in UOG, Pakistan that is working on studying the immune responses to COVID-19 infection. For that purpose, i read many articles and this idea emerged in my mind.

Lastly, I will be grateful if you highlight those parts for me where you observed different writing styles.

There is no need to be sorry. I really appreciate constructive criticism. Thanks again smile

HubPages does not like affiliate links, or links that are self-promotional.  If you include links to research, that is absolutely fine.

The moderators may have refused your Hub because they don't know you are a professional working on Covid-19, then put that information in your "author bio" and also explain it in your opening paragraph.

I can see the article, but it has problems.

You don't include a list of authoritative references for your claims and facts.

You say "In my opinion, the first vaccine might not be 100% effective for everyone." I'm sorry, but since according to your bio you aren't a medical scientist, your opinion is unimportant.

Your are missing important information. I read the Scientific American article where you obtained your quote. While the speculation that some forms of the vaccine may not work in older people exists, you don't include the fact that the research team that you mention is exploring the addition of an adjuvant to enable the vaccine to work in older individuals.

I think the title of the article is unnecessarily alarmist in this time when mental health is important.

You should check for language errors in the article, such as unnecessary capitalization. Photos should have a suitable license.

        Hello,

Thank you for your honest feedback.

Actually, I added links to the sources in my text initially. But on someone's advice that the article should not contain a link to other sites, I delinked all. I am new to this website and still learning the proper formats of writing articles. Nevertheless, I will add references again separately.

Furthermore, I will read that Scietific American article again. But, they did mention that majority of the labs are not considering the suitability of vaccines for older people.

But, I think you are right about the negative consequences it might have on reader's mind, especially considering the lockdown situation.
        Therefore, I will edit it.

        Thanks again.

I can see it too now, yes it is unsupported and pointless scaremongering, also that photo is AP press and so under copyright.

Your formatting is not per HP guidelines. Please read those. It will help if you plan on writing more. You have some glaring punctuation errors and grammar errors, which means you didn't proofread the piece well enough and want us to do it for you.  You do have interesting data, but the article needs someone to edit. Something else you can add to the article "herd immunity" based on mild cases (antibody tests) and vaccines—a study sponsored by Standard that has positive results, showing people had it in California as far back as November 2019.
