You could do more research related to your topic or use brainstorming techniques to get ideas to include in the article. Unless you're writing for a website or a publication that requires more than 1250 words, however, it may not be a good idea to lengthen a particular article. It's important that you don't include repetition and unnecessary sentences in the article simply to increase word length (as I expect you know).

Exactly Alicia, i know the rules of writing, obviously, we should avoid repetition but I wanted to confirm that everyone is writing an article of twelve hundred and fifty words?
Some articles need more related information.

My longest one has 6,500 words. You can make it as long as you need to. The 1,250 is just a guideline. It's optimal for keeping the reader on the page long enough to get an impression (which is how you get paid).

Ah, okay. I think we misunderstood the question. Thought you wanted to know how to get it *up to* 1250.

Bev, you wrote an article of 6500 words? It must be interesting. Let me have the link to immerse my mind in its marrow. Glad you link me.

Increase the content. Structure it in smaller modules. Elaborate and give example. Discuss various aspects beforehand which might be raised by readers after reading it. Slightly deviate to related things here and there from the main theme but remain connected and come back quickly. Give figures, diagrams and pictures wherever possible. Link to related contents elsewhere or even within hubpages. All the best.

Might be worth re-posting this. You can divide up your desired number of words between each section. Add more sections as necessary.

    >>I found this, and edited it to work for HubPages. It might be helpful... or it may not smile And of course, you can add your images, polls, call-outs, etc.

    Article Structure and Content

    ⦁    Choose your topic.
    ⦁    What's your unique angle?

    TITLE

    ⦁    Attention grabber 1
    ⦁    Search engine friendly
    ⦁    Must be on topic.

INTRODUCTION (use appropriate subtitle, or none if there's no image above)

    ⦁    Attention grabber 2
⦁    What is the article about?
⦁    Why does the subject need addressing?
⦁    What will the reader discover?

    Subtitle 1
⦁    What is this section about?
    ⦁    Why does it matter?
    ⦁    Research or Examples
    ⦁    Takeaways

    Subtitle 2
⦁    What is this section about?
    ⦁    Why does it matter?
    ⦁    Research or Examples
    ⦁    Takeaways

    Subtitle 3
⦁    What is this section about?
    ⦁    Why does it matter?
    ⦁    Research or Examples
    ⦁    Takeaways

    CONCLUSION (use an appropriate subtitle)

Round-up all the above in a single paragraph.
What's the takeaway from the entirety?

    REFERENCES (if appropriate).

Thank you theraggededge, but still, i can't find the answer to my question whether we can write an article of more than 1250 words or not?
I have read some articles, it seems these articles are written in more than 1250 words.
