    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!

      Hi there...

      A few things.

      "Steaming Netflix"... Streaming?

Be careful of being over specific when addressing your reader. "You Border Collie".

HubPages is a global company, therefore your article will be read by people in the US, Canada, UK, India, etc. VPN is a general topic; it's not just restricted to Australians, so think about whether it's a good idea to only address Australians.

You haven't mentioned the fact that VPN is built into many browsers. Are they effective?

Your article is too short; you don't explain or go into enough depth to make it a top quality resource. You need at least 1,000 - 1,500+ words.

Importantly, you haven't answered the question posed by your title. Instead of a bunch of waffle in the intro, you should answer the question up front and then spend the rest of the article explaining it. Then your conclusion should sum up the article body and restate the answer in clear language.

You must cite the source of your images, and they must carry a Creative Commons license or be in the Public Domain.

      Good luck.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. The idea was to have a focus on Australia. Here down under we get everything years later. Amazon, movies, fast internet etc. All comes 3 - 10 years later than anywhere in the world. But I got you message onboard. Thank you.

Regarding VPN built into many browsers, only Opera browser has one built in among the reputable brands. The rest have extensions. All are really not VPNs I was talking about, these are VPN clients. The clients, both built in or extensions, must connect to a VPN server that provides privacy, encryption and unwanted logs that I addressed in the article.

Thanks for the hints re: Image sourcing. I thought pixabay or unspalsh don't need any referencing and it isn't clear on hubpages help how to cite these two.

My feedback still stands. There is no point limiting your audience on HP. You may have more success writing on an Australian site. Or you could mention Australia in the title. You are writing for search engine traffic, so bear that in mind.

Cite image sources (even Pixabay) in the capsule; it's pretty clear what goes where.

    Yep, I use Opera smile

Thanks. I got it on board.

I am not interested in making money right now.  I have been writing lots of technical papers in the last few years. My writing style is for geeks. I often expect prior (deep) technical knowledge and this needs to be changed, so ordinary people understand me too. Your feedback is actually well demonstrates this ;-)

Opera VPN has been found to be vulnerable not that long ago. It also collect usage data, "anonymise" it and sale to any interested party. If you are looking for anonymity and complete privacy, this definitely is not the VPN service you should trust. But I guess, it is still OK for hiding from spammers and so on.

I perfectly understand your article. I have a technical qualification and taught IT at college level. However, it is not geeky enough. It needs to be much more in-depth. More comprehensive. This 'ordinary person' found that the text did not answer the question posed in the title. Exactly how secure (or not) are VPNs? What kind of specific security issues might affect my device. How might they affect me and my data?

You are specifically aiming at streaming services, so perhaps that ought to be in the title too, alongside 'Australia'?

This is your typical competition: https://uk.pcmag.com/features/88655/wha … u-need-one

Your article has to be better than that one (and similar), or no one will find it. Your traffic does not come from HubPages; it comes from search engines.

Here's an article from the HP network site Turbofuture. It's not about VPNs but it will give you an idea of the depth necessary to write a decent article for this platform.

        https://turbofuture.com/internet/Privat … -You-Think

And... I don't use the Opera VPN. You shouldn't make assumptions.
