I did quite a number of Google DMCA strikes this year, the bulk being Russian clones of my Delishably articles.
Couple of hours ago, I checked my account and realized a couple of clones were "reinstated." These clones are now direct copies of the new Delishably sites, including the much-debated video on top.
How on Earth did this happen? And without Google even informing me?
Anyone else has experience in this?
Happens a lot. Most sites like this are hosted by companies that either don't care about copyright law or know it would be difficult or even impossible for you to take action against them.
The easiest way to deal with it is to just DMCA Google search instead of the website or their host. This removes it from the index so that the infringing site can't gain organic traffic from your copied content or put you at risk of a duplicate content penalty. Not a perfect solution, but better than nothing.
No, I did do a Google DMCA. Google deindexed the clones then reinstated them.

So if I look at my Google DMCA dashboard, several of the websites reported for copying my hubs show as "approved" and no longer pending, but if I go on the link, it's still live, and these are links I have reported back in October, so not sure why they are still live. I have read...

I wanted to share an email that I received four days after filing a DMCA complaint against copied material I found upon searching. This is not the first positive result I have had from various DMCA complaints filed with Google. It is not hard, does not take a lot of time and you get...

Question for seasoned writers: I found an actual instance of someone who copied my hub, word for word. The only thing missing were my pictures. It was posted on a blog. I used the contact form I found to reach out to the blogger and ask that the content be removed. What is a reasonable time frame...

Has anyone had any luck getting material removed from Course Hero? Is it worth filing DMCA's? The only reason I am even finding the content, is by doing Google searches of different paragraphs from my articles. HP has not alerted me to any copyright issues. I wonder if it is because the whole...

Some time ago I had filed a DMCA with Google because one of my PetHelpfull articles had been stolen. I tried but couldn't reach the website/host it was sitting on so I filed a DMCA in order to remove the article from the search. Tonight I got an email from Matt saying that Google had removed...

I found not that long ago that one of my recipe hubs was stolen and published on another site word for word (with some extra words added within my text) including the picture I used. I went to that site (ireport.cnn.com) and filed a DMCA with them. I never got a response from them. Then I forgot...
