I ran into this this afternoon. As someone who practices non-monogamy, I'd really appreciate it if non-monogamy and "cheating" were separated as topics.

Cheating is when there's an agreement to be sexual with one's primary partner only and one partner breaks the agreement. But all couples don't have that agreement.  Many couples make agreements to see others outside of their relationship, in order to keep themselves and their primary relationship healthy.  Lumping articles about non-monogamy and cheating together is definitely a judgement call, and I agree—they need to be separated.

Making a different category for cheating would help separate the content.

Promiscuity is unhealthy in many ways.

People who are non-monogamous are often not at all promiscuous. From what I've heard and read, one or both will choose another single or married person they're attracted to and form a long term attachment that's different from the one they have with their spouse.

However, some are promiscuous, which can be unhealthy. But then, what doesn't have its unhealthy aspects? These two topics would provide really good fodder for articles. It's all personal choice and who are we to judge or predict someone else's choice? Integrity is still the key IMHO.

Integrity is always the choice. Ethic is also a personal choice. When we get into right and wrong, that's morals. I am just saying there is a lot of blow back from promiscuity. Sexual relations requires responsibility, such as possible pregnancy and STDs. Just saying.

Do people really get permission (or agree) to ‘cheat’ on each other? Wow!

Polygamy and open relationships are hardly "new" ideas. If the relationship is not a pair and or not exclusive "cheating" has got absolutely nothing to do with it.

You make a good case for separate categories, but when I look down the page I see a forum debate on exactly the same topic from 5 years ago, so whether HP will actually change anything is another matter.
