As a new author on Hubpages, I'm getting mixed information on how to sign up to Amazon or Google to monetizing my articles. I have signed up for Paypal and am ready to post, but I don't want to hit the published button until I'm sure. Question; Is advertising on my page done automatically??

You need to enroll in the Ad and Amazon Programs here. We no longer require Google AdSense for the Ad Program. Ads from the Ad Program are automatically placed in your articles for you, but Amazon Capsule must be placed manually by you. Please visit the FAQ for more information about making money with HubPages.

Matt, that makes sense to a newbie anyway.                                       These days I notice HubPages will wade in fast to advice authors on issues of special or technical nature.                                  Keep up the good works. Much thanks.

After you associate your PayPal account with your HubPages account you will need to enroll in the Ad Program here: https://hubpages.com/my/earnings/affiliate/. Enrolling in the Ad Program is not automatic. You will not earn money unless you enroll. Please email team@hubpages.com if you have any questions.

I believe Google put out an update penalizing affiliate links (two weeks ago?). Could this affect HP/Mavin links to Amazon?

Will sales generated via Amazon be reflected in the author's Amazon account or will it be transferred to the 'pool' to be handled by PayPal?
(I have not been around for a long time!)
        Thanks.
