Hi all, I’ve tried half a dozen times to get a blog post published, but it keeps getting rejected for quality or spam.  I’m really not sure why though.  Is there some requirement that I’ve overlooked?
My hub is linked below.  Any tips on getting this approved and getting out of boot amp would be appreciated.

Looks like a great, useful, well written article to me. Personally I've found it can now take months to get an article into a niche. A year ago it was one to two days at most but seems the editing team are super busy. Last one I had published about a month ago, I just pounded away at them through the contact page. Finally had someone on my case who pushed it along.

I think a major problem is that your profile and bio don’t mention any qualifications related to finances. You mention that you are an engineer by day and that you are a financial blogger at night. You need to describe your qualifications and /or experience with respect to giving financial advice in more detail. You are advising people to get refinancing and loans, and you’re also advising them to invest their money in specific types of funds. I think it’s vital that you show that you are qualified to do this and describe any drawbacks to the procedures.

You should also check for unnecessary capitalization in the article. Another point that I noticed was the repetition of the word “debt” in the first capsule.

Your biggest mistake is referring to yourself as a blogger and your articles as blog posts.  HubPages is not a blogging platform.  If you wish to write a financial blog, I suggest you use Blogger or WordPress.

HubPages is more like an online magazine.  They are looking for high quality articles of at least 1,000 words.  They expect their authors to be experts in their fields.  What are your qualifications to write about finances?  Have you ever worked in the financial field?

If you have no qualifications to write about finances and are just going to present ideas that you Googled, you will never be featured.  Readers can do that already.  What unique ideas or skills do you bring to the table?

That is what HubPages is looking for, not amateur blog posts.

I don't really understand how you've tried a dozen times to get this posted when you only joined 4 weeks ago?

You've chosen a topic that's over-represented online (saturated?) and traditionally associated with spam content.

Write about something where you have unique knowledge? Write more articles than just one? Try different things?

It's better to pick something that's not already extensively covered, unless you're able to take a new approach or do it better than all the competition. Like Alicia says, there's nothing to indicate that you have any particular qualifications or expertise regarding debt and finance.

I strongly suspect that you won't do well with your current approach.

If there is no copying and the content is in the own style of the writer and is presented in a structured form and free of spelling and gramatical mistakes then generally it gets featured at least in discover.hubpages if not in a niche site.

It looks like it's already in Discover, so I'm guessing he wants it accepted into Toughnickel?

When articles contain spammy elements. I believe they remain published on discover. I believe they also pass QAP. However, it displays a circle sign that says "Not Featured - Quality."

It happened to one of my articles, which passed the QAP but displayed the circle sign instead of the featured sign because two of the links I provided in the references capsules were either not working properly or were rejected by HP for whatever reason. smile

We are answering on this post today. He posted this discussion 2 weeks ago. Lol!  big_smile

    Hi there,

None of the links you included in the references capsule work. Maybe that's what's making it spammy. smile

Best wishes and welcome to HP
