I am a lot of traffic this week from cdn.ampproject.org, Googles amp address. Has HP instituted changes in the website to make traffic on mobile devices more friendly. I have not noticed many changes in ranking that would count for traffic from this address.

Hi Dr. Mark! You're absolutely right. We now have AMP turned on for most articles on PetHelpful. We're glad you're seeing a bump in mobile traffic!

I'm so glad you did this! In the last day I went from 20 views a day to over 4000! I hope this is a permanent change

Since this is Google search, organic traffic, income should also go up. This does not happen with social media traffic. Will It keep up in the months ahead? I hope so.

I'm just wondering about this...I saw a massive increase in traffic for a couple of weeks, and then it's dropped back to what it used to be. Is AMP still turned on? I was getting a mixture of traffic from AMP, msn, and pethelpful, but they've all dropped off again.

It is still turned on but I have not seen it at the top. It seems like just a few hundred per day.
Not sure why we were getting the msn traffic. It seems to have disappeared completely

Noticed the same with mine. Was doing awesome for a few days, then the views dropped significantly this past week.

MSN is not even on the traffic sources for daily views this morning. Are you still seeing anything from that site?

Oh well. I looked through their pages the other day and could not find our links anyway. Not sure how any readers would find It.

What does AMP do for sites?

To oversimplify it, AMPs (Accelerated Mobile Pages) use a framework that allows them to load much more quickly. Here's a helpful article from SEMrush that goes into more detail! https://www.semrush.com/blog/amp-pages/

Images seem to load maybe a bit faster, but still quite slow. When I scroll through an article, I just see lots of white place holders. Ads take about 7 to 10 seconds to load which surely must cause loss of impressions because they're scrolled past before loading? I'm on a 100 MBS connection so it's not an issue with my broadband speed.

Is AMP turned on for other niche sites as well as PetHelpful, like Wanderwisdom?

        I don't know. Maybe that's why I didn't notice much improvement.

Edit: On Chrome, it still takes ages for ads/images to load and scrolling is sluggish with large pauses after swiping up. My phone is 5 years old. Maybe that's the reason?

I was wondering what was going on. I had well over 1k in views for a random Pethelpful article on and off for the last 2 weeks and could not figure out why. Did not know that address belonged to Google. Today I still have roughly 100 views in the past 24hrs for MSN, but views are pretty low otherwise.

Like you, I couldn't find it on MSN so no idea how anyone else is.

I found it odd that it was one of my least viewed articles ever. I have much more successful Pethelpful articles that did not see those same numbers at all. In fact they haven't changed.

All of my articles that had the increased traffic were also older ones that have not seen much traffic. They have all gone back down to near the bottom, and those that get more traffic have moved back up without any changes.
