I would prefer to think that most people died instantly rather than what some scientists now believe.  https://discover.hubpages.com/education … -Residents

What a horrific and terrifying event. Like Peggy, I hope people died instantly or at least lost consciousness instantly. It's horrible to think that some people didn't. As always, Ravi has created an interesting article.

    Ravi
Thanks for bringing this story to us.
It would have been an awful death to endure.  Hopefully not many of them suffered that long.
    Interesting article.

Thanks LInda.I would also have wished that people had died instantly but it looked as if they died painfully.

This is a very interesting article Ravi. It is a part of history that was horrible to the people about the mountain. I found this article to be very informative.

Thank you for posting Ravi's article Peggy.

I read the trite through. Interestingly as it is, it's heart-breaking. The thing is that nature was against the people and there's nothing they can do.
It's also a pity and a sorry sight that these ancient people who believed in different gods can't get help from the deities.
So such a sorry sight that some are fleeing and the gods burnt to ashes!
I believe if these people ignorantly worship the Sun and Moon instead of God the Creator, He would have had to help them, despite the fact that they live near a violent volcano.
May their souls rest in peace in the bosom of their Creator. Amen.

This is one of the most famous and tragic historical events, Ravi. Thank you for sharing what the people of Pompeii must have had to endure.
