I have had several articles "reviewed" and edited by the Hub Team, most recently on Spinditty. ALL of them now include several links within them to other articles by other writers, most on Spinditty, some on other sites. One example is my article on Piano Tuning now has three links to other articles about pianos and music!!!
I thought we not allowed to direct readers to our other articles, but here is the HUB Team directing readers to various other writers. Is this a good thing?
Has anyone else had this experience lately? Thanks - Loretta
I currently have a new article on a niche site and it has a few links at the bottom to other articles that aren't mine, but on the same niche.
The editors have done that on a few of my articles as well. I clicked on the links to see what they were about. I then contacted Haley, my editor, and told her those articles would also qualify to backlink to mine. She agreed and added links to mine on other's articles when the topics did indeed relate to each other.
My email just says Hub Team, no individual. I replied to them anyway to ask about back links. Thanks for the idea.
You're welcome. I hope they respond to you. My emails from Haley were also from Hub Team, but she signed off at the bottom. Great editor!
They seem to be promoting sharing more lately. We can link to our other articles but they must be on one of the niche sites, not Discover or HubPages.
I'll have to retest this...i know my discover ones don't work, but i thought if we linked to other articles they dont go any further than discover.
Thanks.
I had links to my own other articles taken out, so it annoys me that other articles were linked to!
For what it's worth, this means that other articles now have links to you.
No, they don't. Not unless the editor has provided backlinks in those articles as well. As I mentioned above, if you ask the editor, Haley in my case, she'll provide a link from the other article to yours if they are related in topic.
There's the inline "Recommended", but also the list of recommended or related articles that sometimes ends way down below that block of "Recommended for You" ads. Those are unlikely to be seen.
Yes, those have been around.
These are within my article. The Piano Tuning article has a block of links near the end, but my Lyre and Ukulele articles have links scattered within the article going to other pages by other authors.
Those links are not made by the editors but are randomly chosen by the system. That's what an editor told me when I asked about those links. In my article about bottle feeding lambs I used the words cow milk in a phrase and the word cow turned into a link sending the reader to someone elses article about cows.Totally not related to my article.

I have 37 articles on PetHpful that are undergoing editing....AGAIN. This happens a lot. I'm expected to go into each article, read it, fix the mistakes the editors put into my articles, and repost the articles. I have other writing projects (book, book trailer) pending for my agent, and I don't...

This doesn't make sense. My article "Gardening for Beginners: 10 Easy Steps to Sowing Seeds which currently ranks in fourth place (despite all the deranking) for "How to Sow Seeds" has had its title changed to "How to Sow Seeds( Plus A Definition)". I'll change it back when...

Wow. I think I am sorely disappointed. I went back and looked at my article that I originally published four or five years ago here. The changes that were made affected the entire tone of my original piece. vocabularly edits, cutting down sentences, they totally tore apart my...

Hello Beautiful Souls,I have an article on Tatring that I wrote in June of last year. The editors decided to move the article to Tatring; I never submitted it. They wrote me an email saying the article is eligible to move to a network site and asked me to include an introduction to the piece so the...

Last night I went in an edited a capsule so that it would be full width, which is what HP wants everyone to do. The article I edited has been published and featured since 2012. When I went in and edited, however, the editor that read it decided that it was no longer going to be featured. I was told...
