Yesterday I resubmitted my Special Needs Pets article to Pet Helpful, and it was passed on again. I changed the photos and added attributions, added a graph on my experience, and did some editing, placed my links in a links capsule. It came back with the same message for photos, text, layout, spelling/grammar, and experience-based content. I also asked Haley at Team Hub Pages for some clarity on the rejection in June. Then I get a message saying it doesn't meet their standards and this from Domenic: I will check some general aspects of this piece that could use improvement to give extra explanation as to why this piece has not been moved to PetHelpful. . Any ideas on how to give this another try to be resubmitted next month. Here's the link: https://discover.hubpages.com/animals/S … -Love-Too.
There is a lot of good information in your article, but there are problems as well.
Some of the pet problems are capitalized when they don’t need to be. You need to be very careful in saying that a problem is due to one of the items in your list when you’re not a veterinarian. You also need to check whether a comma that you’ve used is actually needed in the sentence.
The caption of the picture of the dog paw on his or her ear has a spelling mistake
The “References” section appears to be copied content and in one place is incomplete. The &ndash in the first one is strange. You need to be careful because because the list sounds like an advertisement, especially the last one in the list.
When I tried to click the link for your photos, there either wasn't a link and when there was, it didn't take me any site. This is what I got:
This site can’t be reachedCheck if there is a typo in http.
If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
As far as your references go, I suggest just putting a link to each of them and get rid of the descriptions.
OKay. These sound like doable fixes to give it another try. Thanks Alicia.
There are several watermarked iStock images. You can't use those. And, as Linda says, you can't include a link to a pet insurance company.
Thank you for noticing this, Bev. I was using my phone to look at the article and didn’t notice the watermarks.
I've changed all of the photos and used them from freeimages, Pixabay, Unsplash, and others. I hope they're better.
Thanks Bev. The photos are fixed for now.
I would go through the article and check things like in this paragraph has unnecessary commas and an incorrect verb tense, noted with [ ]:
It ranges from physical disabilities to chronic medical conditions[,] or having a behavioral problem that requires ongoing vigilance[,] or special care to manage. The main reason why people pass on adopting them[,] are [is] because they’re not physically or emotionally able to care for it. The pets need a little extra care. The extra costs for vet visits, medicines, special equipment, and maybe surgery to repair what’s “broken"[,] also account for why they're passed over.
Gotcha Kenna. This is an easy fix I think. Thanks for pointing it out.
There is some great information here and it tugs at the heartstrings. It is obvious you did a lot of research. To me, it's a little long and has some redundancy. It is possible to get the message across with more concise language. In a few places it is hard to tell what the word "it" refers to. I rewrote the first few paragraphs to give an example of what I mean. I hope you won't be offended by my corrections. I am trying to be helpful not critical.
When there is a new arrival of kittens or puppies at my local shelter, they are usually adopted within 24 hours according to the staff. Adult cats and dogs follow suit within a couple days. Some pets are often overlooked as they are not considered “perfect” by potential owners. Special needs pets are the most difficult for animal shelters and rescues to have adopted. They stay longer, ranging from six months to a year or more.
Occasionally, you hear a story about this on the news, or read an article online or on social media. The problems range from physical disabilities to chronic medical conditions, or a behavioral problem that requires ongoing vigilance or special care to manage. The main reason people pass on adopting special needs pets is because they’re not physically or emotionally able to care for them. The pets need a little extra care. The extra costs for vet visits, medicines, special equipment, and maybe surgery to repair what’s “broken" could account for why special needs pets are passed over.
Hope this helps
Thanks so much. This is helpful. Duly noted for your comments on feedback. I'll be working on this hub's on and off and work on others (new and revised) in the meantime this fall.

I resubmitted my Special Needs Pets Need Love hub article to Pet Helpful. And it came back with editorial suggestions for text, layout, and photos (I already fixed from last month's feedback), and also added with author bio (easy fix), Spelling/Grammar (already fixed with Grammarly and AutoCrit),...

Iv'd recently had two articles denied from Owlcation. The first is a book review (I read on another forum that that's where book reviews should be submitted, although it doesn't make sense to me). The second is a photo play-by-play of an nearly extinct bug working in my yard, The American Burying...

Hi everyone!I'd like to receive some of your thoughts and opinions on an article that I just recently published. It's been receiving quite a high amount of traffic since the first day I published it (unlike many of my other articles), so I'd like to know what it was that I did right with this...
