I still have 70 articles lingering in the limbo of HubPages dot com. Is it worth my effort to try to get them moved to Discover? With the imminent demise of HP, I'm not sure it's worth my time. That task, in addition to backing up the online versions of the articles that actually have earning potential, seems a bit daunting and a waste of time.
Thoughts?
Just unpublish, save it offline, delete off HP, change a few things and reupload as a new article. It'll go straight to Discover.
It might work if you just unpublish and republish... maybe try that first?
Bev, I might just take your advice, although I don't know if I would re-publish online (to what format?). In 2013 I began writing a novel and posted chapters on the HP format, for which I received great feedback. Only 4 of the 16 chapters that I posted were deemed worthy of Discover and they weren't even in succession. I think I should probably delete all chapters so when my novel is complete, I can honestly say that my novel is original and has not been posted online in any form.
I'll have to take a look at the others and see if I still think they are worth the effort. Frankly, I've given up on HP. The many changes over the years have killed my inspiration to write.
You don't need to do all that. Just make some fresh edits and updates to your articles on HubPages. When they receive a little traffic they will be moved to Discover.
Well the same quality article with the same words which was getting 400 views a day on dengarden now gets 1 view a day. Does this mean that it will move off of discover and go back to hubpages.com sometime in the near future?
Good question, Brandon. The articles I have on the original HP domain received plenty of traffic (and comments, when we had that capability) when I first posted them, but never got moved to Discover when that subdomain was created. That said, I personally don't think traffic is the end-all-be-all for articles being moved to Discover. Perhaps I should just try making a minor edit to the articles I think are worth the effort and re-publishing.
Yes, if you make some edits your articles will most likely be moved to Discover.
Give it a try per Bev. Do one article and see if it works.
I edited a few older ones, and they moved to Discover within in day.
That's encouraging, Patty. Thanks for your feedback.
But, Shauna, you can still complete your novel and publish it in book format, without deleting your articles on HP.
Regarding editing of the articles, it is up to your choice and stamina.
I had only 20 of my articles featured out of the total 50. I was facing the same dilemma you are facing now. But within a year, I edited one by one and got all of them featured. Now, I at least have the satisfaction that all 50 of my articles are featured, even though I am not earning from them.
Discover is just a subdomain of hp.com. So no, it's not a good use of your time.

I was wondering what the requirements for this might be for being moved to discover. I only have a few hubs but three of those I wrote were moved to discover.hubpages after about two weeks of being on hubpages.com. I have a few others that have not been moved yet but they are nearly two months old....

It was published 12 years ago and has had seven edits by editors over the years. Possibly it has been moved because of low traffic or not enough content. Some reasons suggested were: long walls of text non-evergreen content photos that are too small (<700px...

When I first began writing here at HP I was terrible, but I still got moved to Soapboxie with ease. Now that I've improved, I can't get a single article through to that specific niche site. My three best articles on Soapboxie, allegedly, are as follows:https://soapboxie.com/us-politics/Polit...
