I am shocked at the images that pop up under a Google search of my name that either are not me or are not associated with my HP publications.  Has Google gone completely spastic or does a “recrawling” have to take place that should be initiated by Hubpages?  This did not occur until my LetterPile Content was moved to Discover. Has anyone else experienced this?

Genna, I just Googled myself. Photos of me, my self-published poetry book, and other people named Shauna come up, but their full names are stated, as is mine under the images that really are me and my book.

Hi Shauna.  Thank you so much for the comment.  I actually unpublished one of my HP stories. The title, along with my name appeared, but with the image of someone I've never even seen before.  Lol.  Other stories have images that are not at all associated with the image I published with that particular content. Or my name appears directly below the image of someone who isn't me.  It's rather scrambled.

Wow. My images didn't show up with any articles I wrote. There were images in the middle of the first page of results when I Googled Shauna L Bowling.

I had to search a few pages to find myself, there are so many John Hansen’s, even John D Hansens, but most just took me to my bios on certain websites where my writing appears, or specific articles. The info and photos seem correct though.
I never found my HubPages bio or links to any of my work here though.

    Hi Shauna and John…

Thank you for your comments.  Perhaps the fact that Google is integrating AI in its search engine is part of the problem. I don't know. But I have long considered certain aspects of AI to be foolish if always taken seriously, given the number of times it reports misinformation. The irony is that AI cannot write or think;  it retrieves, constructs and/or mimics which makes it appear, at times, pretentious and ridiculously superficial.

The story I unpublished is the one Mike Friedman and I wrote together, “The Warlock.”  The woman in the photo didn’t look remotely like either one of us.

By the way, Mike also received the HP email about the Arena changes to various niche sites such as LetterPile, and closed his account because of it.  He doesn’t want to be bothered with all of these changes, and I don’t blame him.  It’s a shame because he is one of the best creative writers to ever honor the pages of HP.

    Yes, that is a shame.

Hi, I also wanted to see the results and googled for Venkatachari M. 60% of the photos and content were mine. The rest of the results were of those having different surnames.

Thank you, Venka, for the comment.  I forgot to mention that I also pop up under “Muck Rack,” which is odd since I’m not a journalist.  (Their links to my former LetterPile publications pull up with the 404 error code.)

John, you are also listed under Muck Rack.  Anyway, I’ve given up trying to understand it all.  Enjoy your weekend, everyone. :-)

Really? I have never even heard of Muck Rack.

I'm so sorry, John.  It's probably a different John Hansen.  I never heard of Muck Rack either unitl I saw my recent hupbages publications pop up on their site.  Weird.

This all happened when I was checking to make sure that LetterPile was no longer referenced on content that was moved to Discover.
