If I want to sign up a new hubber--do I just send them a link to one of my hubs ? And then if they sign up right then and there I get an inbound referral payment ? Approx how much is this payment & THANKS !

No-one has answered this so I will attempt to do so.
The link you send has to have your referral tracker in it, and I'm pretty sure that just sending them the link of your hub url won't have it.
On your accounts page, look for URL trackers. There should by default be one there with a load of number/letters which can be confusing to use.
    Choose create a new tracker.
Make one with 3 or 4 letters/numbers or even your own name - ones that you will remember, then when you send a link via email or whatever, add (_yourtrackername/) after it says hubpages.com/ and before it says 'hub'. So if your hub is hubpages.com/hub/what-am-I-doing you can change it to hubpages.com/_andrew/hub/what-am-I-doing.
    Have I explained it OK?

I was so sure this would have been answered I cut a bit.
Right if you send a link with your referral tracker in the link, nd they sign up, you get something like 10% of the hubpages share of the revenue for an adsense click.
Get into the habit of including a tracker everywhere you post links.

You don't get a share of revenue or a part of anyone click.

You get about a 10% share of the ad impressions.

So if a visitor is viewing a hub on your ad impression and they click an ad, you get 100% of the revenue.

You can find out more about the percentages at How HubPage Tracking Works.

Darkside cleared up the wrong info here about what you earn from referrals, but I'd like to add that if your referral people don't actually sign up, don't then go on to build lots of Hubs, get a HubScore over 75 and draw lots of traffic, you're not going to hardly earn anything.

I go to the bottom of the hub click share it.  Click the link to this page and copy that link as it will have your tracker in it.

You will then have your affiliate code on their hubs 10% of the time.

I only figured this out like one week ago.

        Thanks Darkside

On your profile page, above your fans, there is an invite button, that you can use to send invitations via e-mail, to your friends.  If they sign up, they will be under you.  There is no 'referral payment', but your account information will be on their hubs, 10% of the time...allowing your the potential to earn from their work.

I did not know that I have been adding my tracker manually to my profile page.  Thanks for the info! smile
