I love the new hub hopping feature and when I was hopping through today I saw a hub posting an ad for an escort agency...I reported it...I feel bad though. Was I supposed to do this? I found it really offensive.
An escort agency...like a HO...house? Pardon my French.
Boy! I've just been disregarding that feature...maybe I should check it out.
Just kidding ladies. SR cringes
Sometimes you can find really good hubs but most of the time they are garbage...I rate a lot down...lots of picture hubs with no words too
If the hub violates the TOS, report it. That's what the flag button is for. You did the right thing.
Perhaps you can help me with my dilemma? I was hopping and came across a hub entitled "Sister Sex Horny For Brother." It was just a picture hub and the pictures were not obscene at all, but the title of the hub made them seem that way. Would you report it?
I would...I mean that is not what Hubpages is for. I do not want my writing associated with that smut...
This would fall under the category of misleading title maybe? It would depend on the tags I think.
Why?
I report inappropriate hubs like that myself. I feel I owe it to HubPages.com, to help keep their site the way they want it, so they can maintain their awesome site.
Exactly.
Christina, a report is just a report. It doesn't take the Hub down - all you've done is let the HubPages team know you're worried about this Hub. If it's not breaking any rules, they won't take action. No harm done.
When you see something that really makes you wonder, it means that it would be a good idea if someone who truly knows what HubPages' standards are (i.e. the Hub admin team) takes a look at it.
If the Hub is truly okay, it's no harm, no foul and the Hub will stay published. If the content is a problem, the admin team will take the appropriate action.
It is amazing what you come across when you are hub hopping. I have rated hubs down before but never reported any until now.
You did the right thing! We are serious writers here and we want to uphold the standards of the community!
p.s. anyone seen my hub called 'fornication made easy' hehehe *sorry... JUST JOKING!* lol
I don't think the person will be missing out on anything...they only have 2 hubs and no followers and have been here for 5 months...
Was it a newbie's page? It's a good idea to keep a suspicious eye on newcomers.
I think that is what the Hubhopping feature is for - to help the staff weed out the garbage.
It's a great way of finding good hubbers with great hubs, and I always rate the good ones up. Others I skip, but the offensive or otherwise completely rubbish ones I report.
1) Something like that will no doubt be against HubPages policy. So report it.
2) In the unlikely event that it isn't, HP HQ won't action the report. So there's no harm done.
3) There is no need to make a thread about it. If the person who published that hub sees this thread they might make you their next pet project and stalk you outside of HubPages.

I have been hub hopping lately and I am disgusted with the incoherent garbage that I am coming across - nothing but poorly translated articles of about 400 words, usually without even any formatting. I would say that more than half of the articles I randomly encounter are clearly nothing but spun...

I was really excited when I saw this new feature because I thought it was a great way to support, get to know and interact with other hubbers...But...for the most part, with some exceptions it is a load of garbage. When I think of all the painstaking time I take putting a hub together...and I...

Do you like the new hub hopping? What I do like about the new hub hopping is they way you can rate grammar separately from creativity. What I do not like, is we are forced to read a hub we have no interest in. It seems we can not hop forward without rating a hub. This will...

How often do you do some Hub Hopping? Do you like it at all?I started to use this feature on HubPages recently, and I think it is very useful, as it helps new hubs to be noticed by more and more people in the community. From now on I will try to Hub-hop everyday for a while just to help others and...

We first launched the new Hub Hopper in early August http://blog.hubpages.com/2012/08/hub-ho … o-feature/ We are looking to increase the amount of Hub Hopping and last night deployed an application to Mechanical Turk to find more people to Hop Hubs. For those that are good at it, there...

I've been hopping some hubs this morning. I came across a few excellent ones and a few that sheer perturbed me.In at least 3 of them, the English was so terrible and the word choice so indecipherable that I highly suspect it to be stolen and spun content. But what do I know?I looked up one hub via...
