Can I go ahead and write hubs for the food contest and post them on HP as unpublished? Then I could just click "publish" on the right day for the topic. Also, how do I post a hub to the contest? Be kind - this is my first ever HP contest! And yes, I read the instructions.

Thanks in advance for any help!

as far as I understand, habee, this would be acceptable. last time we were able to get a head start, but had to follow the 24 hr. time period in which to publish. since it's a global affair, everyone has to be aware of their 24 hr time period.  you can ask any questions in the official thread and they may spot them easier. smile

I agree with rebekahELLE, I think as long as you publish the right topic on the right day, you are automatically entered. (I think) smile

I understood the rules to say that each day would be a particular topic. Would you not run afoul of that time period by posting now? Just curious as it would be nice to get a head start!

you can work on a hub and have it ready to hit publish in that daily 24 hour period for that particular topic. you have to really watch the time periods as it's different for different time zones. I ended up posting one of mine last time on the wrong day (30 minutes early.), so it didn't qualify.

Doesn't HP run on Pacific time??

That's a good point about the time zones. Because I live in EST, I assume everything is EST. I think they need to clear that up for us.

Pacific time. It's in the rules. Everyone read the rules, right? smile

    Hey all,

Sorry to jump in this a bit late.

Yes, you can absolutely "write" and finish (but not publish! even for a second!) your eligible Hubs now, and then publish them when the right window is open.

We do operate on Pacific time here (California) and because of the confusion last time, we're going to have a countdown clock in the Daily Topic section at the top of the contest tab that tells you how much longer you have (approximately) to publish your Hub on the day's topic.

If you're on the East Coast of the US, for example, the contest day will begin at 3pm (and end the next day at 2:59pm). It's good to give yourself a little berth, to avoid a cutoff problem like rebekahELLE had (sorry about that!).

I actually wasn't sure I understood the topics.  They are not all recipes, but rather articles about.... whatever the day's topic is?  Then in the third week (I think) there are actual recipes, but the first two weeks are more explanatory about techniques and ingredients and such.  Is that right?

Yes, I added some clarification on the contest page about this.

Start a new thread then you'd get replies smile Since its based on recipes I won't be taking part so I don't actually know about the requirements.
