Im new to this..how do i get followers and whats the whole number concept about?
Welcome to hubpages! The number thingy is called your hubscore. It's kind of a number that goes up based on your total participation in HB. DOn't worry too much about it, it takes some time to raise (it goes to 100). Oh and you get fans by writing good hubs and helping out other hubbers ;D
Coming to the forums is a great start! People will get to know you and check out your hubs.
Welcome to HubPages and to the Forums.
Fans/followers are about getting yourself noticed. The forums are a good place to start with that.
You can also get yourself noticed by reading other people's hubs and commenting on them. If you see something you like, then help them by rating it up.
You can check out these two hubs by Frogdropping. She is an excellent writer and wrote two hubs on Hubpages.
To help you with hubs themselves, I would recommend reading Darkside. Another awesome writer and hubber.
Those will get you started. Anytime you feel like getting your hubs critiqued...then make sure to post a couple of links in the Extreme Hub Makeover Forum(open a thread and post a couple of links), asking for advice.
There is always someone in the community willing to help out.
Have fun and I do hope you enjoy your time here.
Hello & Welcome!
Check out the forums, get involved in the discussions (but don't take anything too personally) and jump into the game threads. Also, check out other Hubbers, follow the ones you like, read their hubs and leave comments - many will do the same. Enoy!!
I enjoyed reading your hubs, HudeieG, and left comments for you. What would be a great asset is to write your 'bio' for your profile page. It really helps people get to know you.
You are doing exactly the right thing, posting here, and then writing good original content. You will have followers, I am one of them. Welcome to HubPages, may your experience be great.
Just be natural. Post valuable and interesting contributions and publish great content in your hubs.
Here is a link to answer your question on hubscore:
And the best advice I can give you is go through the Hubpages course:
This will give you good grounding.
I also find that Edweirdo's diary logs very helpful as an addition:

And, of course, Cagsil has also given you some great recommendations too.
I hope this helps!

I recall my dear friend Frogdropping complaining about getting too many fans; yeah, remember those days? that's what we were then, anyway. NO MORE DAM IT! Every time I turn around it seems like I have a new follower. I can't take it any more. Now, I must leave here in a bit, got work to do for a...

I'm having problems. Where to start.I go to bed on a stalking issue and get up to shots of navels and grannies doing the splits up the side of lampost. Mark Knowles has left the religious building (though I swear I saw him down the chip shop) and the pulpit is now overflowing (unabated) with tales...

I am risking a ban doing this but I still have no qualms in posting it.This was left on a hub that I wrote. I hope you feel ashamed of the effect your words have on others - I doubt this new hubber is alone: Thank you Mr Frogdropping, actually I was about to join the forum yesterday but I couldn`t...
