My mom

   Remember my mom in your thoughts and prayers.. Her voice box is enlarged and has what the doctors are calling abnormalities. She is having a hard time swallowing and when she coughs she is coughing up blood. I am will leave in the morning to make the six hour trip. I will not be on much for the next few days.
   
   They took a biopsy yesterday and sent it off to be tested. The results will not come back till next week. So I will keep those who want to know updated as soon as I know something.

    The biopsy came back as negative. Her throat is still swollen ad she can no longer swallow solid foods. She goes to a specialist next wek. I will have an update for you then.

    Glad to hear the biopsy came back negative -- that's a relief, at least.
    I know how difficult it is to see a parent become sick. It's a helpless feeling. In my experience, being able to share it takes some of the powerlessness away.
    You have many friends and supporters here on HP and we are all rooting for your mom.

    Thinking good thoughts for you and your family - have they thought to do a swallow study? That might be more helpful to figure out if there is a motor problem causing it? I do a lot of rehab reports in my line of work and that is usually one of the first things to do as sometimes difficulty swallowing can be caused by something totally different.
