I notice that I can't submit any answers on Y!A today containing links to Hubs. Whereas I'm having no trouble submitting answers containing links to my websites.
That suggests people have been submitting too many Hub links with their answers again, and Yahoo is blocking them.
Please, please, please, if you're going to promote your Hubs on sites like this, remember that it's against the TOS to promote anything on Y!A. In practice, you can get away with including links but they must be relevant to the answer and you mustn't post too many links in one session.
That's especially true for HubPages because you don't know how many other Hubbers are posting too - and we're all part of the same domain, so several Hubbers posting a few links each, soon mounts up.
Are you serious, Marisa? I never do more than 1 or 2 hub links per month, and that's ONLY if they are totally, totally relevant and not the ONLY part of the answer that I give. And I (grudgingly) answer at least 5 or 6 non-linked answers for every one that I link. That's worked for me for a long, long, long time.
Sheesh.... Moving on....
Do you think it's a temp or permanent block?
I'm hoping it's only temporary. It has happened once or twice before.
And yes, Taniel, I did try putting it in the source box.
did you try to put it in the source box and not within your answer maybe that'll work. Although I don't spam and I don't even use Yahoo answers as much as I used to.
Ouch, I don't often promote with YA, but it could be bad for those who use it regularly.
It wouldn't be the first time a website is banned from a website due to overpromotion.
I've been using them for a few weeks now. But most links I use go to my own websites, not hubpages. Plus I only put one link in every dozen or so answers I do.
So I've only got maybe 4 hub links in Y!. Been getting picked as the best answer a lot too, feels nice.
It's no follow. However, if you can get "best answer", your answer will show up in search results so I do get real people visiting from it.
I just checked and my hub links are all working on the answers I used them. Are you saying you just can't post new ones to hubs?
Yes, I'm just talking about posting new ones.
Not me (or, in correct grammar, "not I"). I've done about four links on there in something like two years.
I've never post to YA! Hope it clears up soon for you. Now people will learn not to do such things. Thanks

OK I know a lot about links, but somehow I can't make a damn link to turn into a live hyperlink in Yahoo answers! I've done it both ways; just typing in the plain URL, and also using the full a href= code.None of them work. Do you have to post enough before they let your links be live or something?

Hi, I have been writing here for about a month and am looking for ways to increase traffic. I read somewhere that answering on Yahoo Answers and posting a link to a relevant hub can be a good way to increase traffic. Does this actually work that well? I'd be really interested in hearing people's...

I think I may have found a solution to the Yahoo Answers problem. They may have blocked Hub links in your answer, but they still allow them on your profile.I noticed someone else referring the questioner to her profile for more information. Sure enough, I can post links in the 'About Me"...

Wow... I didn't realize how bad it was... It's getting right up there with yahoo answers. People giving terrible advice for things that could potentially be a problem or make other problems.

Does anyone know if Yahoo Answers is still blocking HubPages links? I heard they were a lil while back, but not sure if that was accurate info.

Is it ethically ok to go look for undecided questions in the Yahoo Answers forum that relate to my hubs, then answer the question and give them a link to my hub? Does anyone else do this?
