Hi All:
All my hubs have been flagged as overly promotional even those pages that have no links in them .Two of my 30 hubs are about Chinese New Year and how to make a fruit cake without any links whatsoever. I am wondering if a mistake was made with my hubs or I am I missing something. Most of the other hubs have a link or two in the page.
Regards,
Peter
Well, I am new, too, so don't know. But, I don't see any hubs listed for you (were they canceled?), but a long list of websites in your profile. Doesn't look like other profiles, so maybe that is the problem.
There was never any reference to my profile but specifically the hubs that I created. This happened over a month ago and I am now able to address the matter
I am sorry but I do not know the address. Can you give it to me?
team@hubpages.com
But, judging from your profile page, you are unlikely to last long here
Thanks for the email address and pointing out the problem areas with my profile
The hubpages team aren't so good at these issues yet. Hopefully, with time they will learn but they have a strange way of discriminating which hubs to flag and which ones are OK. I am still waiting for them to reapporve one of my own hubs.
So, you are way better than them at that, right? What is your site where I can sign up?
The hubpages team does just fine. Blame the hundreds of spam hubs that have to be deactivated, and any other dozens of issues that the crew at Hubpages deal with. If Hubbers were more honest and responsible about their content, and weren't in it to sell affiliate products as seems to be the general problem, then things would run a lot smoother.
This is not whining on my books Charlotte, this is direct offense - ungrounded at that. I actually believe apology is due
I think everyone is entitled to their opinion and as long as they express it in a way that is not obscene by community standards, it's OK. That's what the first amendment affords, and I, for one, think no one owes anyone an apology.

Jim Henry isn't so good at these issues yet. Hopefully, with time he will learn but he has a strange way of discriminating which words to put on page and which not. I am still waiting for him to approve of my own writings
Do you feel it? I apologize if I offended you in any way, I compiled this text only for the purpose of illustration.
Do you work for hubpages? What's with all the anger?
Granted, hubpages is an excellent tool that was brilliantly put together.
All I'm saying is I don't understand why they are sending me back this one particular hub that we're having issues with.
It is not even about promotionality.
Our problem is with bad tagging.
My issue is that they are referring me back to the "Importance of tagging" page when I clearly know all about tagging. I never fail to tag all of my hubs.
And nobody is addressing the real issue which is what SPECIFIC words I used in my tags warrant it to be flagged and sent back to me for revision.
I mean, what if I tag something with a word that seems totally apporpriate to me, but the hubpages team find it to be irrelevant.
I believe I have the right to know the exact word that is causing the problem and why that word is so problematic to them for future corrections or to contest the words validity.
I did not receive that type of treatment.
And that is probably the reason this whole forum topic got started, because this guys needs someone to point out to him the specific thing that is causing him issues now.
Referring people to Frequently Asked Questions does not solve everybody's problems because what if your particular problem is not so frequently addressed!
And that's why EVERYBODY hates Customer Support!
Anger?
Customer support?
lol
Whose "customer" are you exactly?

If you read both of these, you will probably answer all your questions.
Dutch:
I'm sorry you have such strong feelings against me. I referred you to the "value of tagging" because I thought it might be helpful for you, not just in the case of the hub in question, but in future as well. I thought it was pretty clear that tags like "sexy" did not apply to a hub with National Geographic pictures concerning ancient pharoahs. I apologize if I should have stated that more clearly.
When I sent the hub back for a second review, I did email you personally to explain the problem. I also let you know at that time that my intentions were good, to help you get relevant traffic to your hub, as well as to avoid frustrating outside visitors who are looking for something specific and feel misled.
Regarding the issue with plaw's account, he has emailed me and we are on our way to a resolution. Repeatedly resubmitting hubs that do not meet our rules, without emailing me to clear up any confusion, or showing a pattern of an inability or unwillingness to publish hubs in compliance, sometimes results in the flagging of an entire account, which may involve the removal of a few "innocent" hubs among the others.
Whatever they're paying you Maddie - It's not enough !!
I don't have a problem with you, Maddie. Every Customer Support thing is like this.
In general, I agree with you. And so would anyone who has tried to get an issue resolved at EBay, Paypal, and any other internet based organisation that has grown so large that they treat their customers with thinly disguised concealed contempt.
That's why the support here at HubPages stands out from the crowd.
I recently had an issue with one of my hubs too, and It was resolved courteously and professionally by Maddie.
I'm with Gamer Girl (who always seems to say interesting things I've noticed, actually, (sideways compliment there... :-?)), this one's for the administration surely.
I also understand the frustration involved when someone is waiting forever for a response from a troubleshooter (which I've never had to do, never having emailed the Hubpages team)... try dealing with Wordpress! This, too, is a fantastic site, and I have nothing but praise for it in fact, but each time I contact them I have to wait around a week for a response...
Still better than some organizations however -- still no rebate from Corel, stupid letter offering no compensation from Air Canada five months after the fact, etc.
Now THERE'S a Hub worth writing... :-)
LOL I guess some people may find mummies sexy
Is it called necromania?
I would say that hubpages is much better than Squidoo especially being clear upfront. Plus no one is perfect of course.
The thing I particularly like is that they don't use spammers as an excuse (and they shouldn't) but seem to genuinely want to fix things.
Dutch:
I was not angry in the least in my posting to you.
I'm sorry you feel that you received poor customer service, I know Maddie is a very thorough person and would not slight people.
The FAQ does, in a couple places, give you the Hubpages email. Coming to the forums to raise a stink about your hub being unpublished by admin is, well, counterproductive. I can tell you from personal experience that an email to the official hubpages inbox is answered much faster than a forum topic in most if not nearly all cases.
So use your email. If you come to the forums with it, it makes you look like you want to whine in a public outlet. Remember that people who are not registered on Hubpages are able to read these forums.
It's at least a little tragic that nobody replied to this request.
;D
There's nothing new about sexy mummies, and they're very popular.
Surely you've heard of MILF's

At last !One of my hubs has been flagged as overly promotional LOLOr at least :WARNING: This hub is in danger of being flagged as Overly Promotional, for 2+ links to a domain. I feel so proud. Almost like a "real" internet marketer. 2008 Motorcycle Guide

i am wondering today that some 3-4 of my hubs has been flagged as overly promotional just a few hours ago..i made some changes and submitted for review ..but i do want to know when the overly promotional flag really applies to a hub..i mean each of these flagged 3 hubs have exactly 2-3 links only...

Do you often flag content on HubPages?I see a few hubs everyday that are in English, but poorly written. I hate to flag a hub if someone is just trying to start on HP, but I don't like reading poorly written hubs! What are your thoughts?
by frogpatch 15 years ago
I am really ticked about this. I posted a hub about a revolutionary new site out there that will change how we social network and I linked to a page, not from that site but an info website of mine so people could get more info and I was flagged for being over promotional! This is news, not...
