Just a thought but might be nice to chat to other hubbers in real time..or has this been mooted or tried before?
Repeatedly. You can look up infobucket's chatroom, I hangout in there occasionally but like most attempts... it has died off.
That was the LAST attempt. However no one goes there anymore. Most chats end up like that it seems...
What has happened to info bucket haven't seen her in ages on the forum?
I thought Infobucket was a guy?
And I haven't seen him/her for awhile...
Maybe he got sick of people not being interested in his chat room.
Hey!! I am a guy!! And i said that the pic is of an actress here in INDIA!! Any way, i've changed my pi!
To me, the wonderful thing about communicating via email or on Internet forums like this one is that the communication ISN'T happening in real time... it happens as and when it suits the individual and is therefore non-invasive. Real time chat rooms don't have much appeal for me, because they tie you down to a specific time just like the telephone does.
I think the same way as you do on this one. I've never even been to a chat room. With something like the non-real-time stuff, you can pop on and see what's there when you feel like and have a few spare minutes (or hours ). It's one thing to "factor into your day" a little bit of something other than "real" work. It's another to not do your work and be online chatting to the world.
I think HP has enough hassle wandering around the various sub-forums without making them lose even more hair moderating a live chat room.
Honest - some of the fights here would have made your hair curl. Your eyes water. And your sides burst from laughter *nods*
Anyway - for my part, I prefer 'chatting' in person, to people I know and love. And I have enough of them to keep me happy. Or chatty.
My current favorite listener appears to be a dog. Hangs on my every word so she does
Man I haven't been in a chat room since I was a kid when AOL first came out. I didn't know they still existed at all online apart from AIM and things like that.
I just had a chat here on the Forums. As EmpressFelicity said seven months ago, the Forums don't tie you down like a chatroom does. And if the chatting parties are online at once, it hardly feels any different to a chatroom.

I've started a chat room for hubber's to connect each other easily. Relache suggested me to start a chat room for hubbers when I posted a Thread on 'Report a problem or Suggest a new feature' forum about starting a chat room for hubpages. If you're interested.....check it out....

How about a Chat box where hubbers can enter and chat to each other.

Your second unrestricted topic thread, keeping TOS in mind of course....Cashier at Staters supermarket double-charged me for a Hot Pockets. Serves me right for buying it in the first place.

Whenever I open the forums, I see countless threads by the same people, many of them unanswered or with only a couple of comments. I would love to see a limit on how many threads the same person can open daily. I often have to go to page 2 or 3 to see what else people are...

all the people I see spamming the forums are signing up long enough to post on the forum but aren't writing any hubs. So ... I was thinking. Why not require three hubs from a person before they can post in the forums? They would still be allowed to read to their heart's content, but they would need...
