How many capsules is a good amount to have for a nice hub. thanks
It all depends on what you are trying to achieve.
I write pretty long articles and some of my hubs have 10-20 text capsules. It allows me to add headers.
I usually have three to ten videos that are relevant to the article.

I use capsules whenever I need one. Most of my hubs have two text capsules (one for the content and one for the copyright notice), a photo capsule, an RSS capsule, an Amazon capsule, and a News capsule. Some also have a video capsule in addition to all that.
depends on how long is your hub, how many of other capsules you are going to use with the text capsules.
I will use at least three text capsules. First one with 120-200 words so that google can place the bigger block of the ads beside it.second one with 50-100 word and the last one with the rest of the text.
wow, I have 2 capsules so far and have articles on them of at least 5 or 600 words. I can't tell the story with less then that, as far as google I wish they couldn't put adds next to my stories. I am not a big google fan,
You can disable ads on your hubs, provided that you do not have any outbound links on the hub in question. This is done while in editing mode, use the tabs on the upper right part of your screen.
I wonder if you are misunderstanding the use of capsules.
The reason to use multiple capsules is so that you can control where other things (like ads or your pictures, quizzes, etc.) show up in relation to your text.
If you have multiple stories to tell, you'd usually do each one in a separate hub, each of which might have multiple capsules.
I usually start a new capsule when I have a new paragraph heading and of course if I want a picture above that part of my text or to the side.
You can also use text capsules as "sidebars" when you want to say something outside of the main text.
my hub is about traveling in Italy and I don't want to talk about something i did in Venice then start a new hub for something i did in Florence so i put each story in a different capsule it makes more sense to me to do my setup like this. thanks
Maybe.
But I really would suggest you post it in Extreme Hub Makeover when you are done..
what do you think about me cutting my text capsules in half and putting the 2nd half of each story in anther text capsule and add another picture capsule to it,
make a hub first,do whatever you think will be nice. then post in extreme hubmakeover forum as Pcunix has already said. Then we would be able to suggest.
It is published now, and the OP has posted to the Extreme Hub Makeover forum:

Tell me more about this side bar thing. I'm not familiar with that?
Ideally, the hub should be published, so that we can all see it. Then post to the Extreme Hub Makeover forum, as suggested. Tweaking and improving published hubs is standard procedure around here, everybody does it, so there is no need to be perfectionist.
My latest hub is about 1,100 words, albeit with 3 image capsules and 3 text capsules. That should give you a good idea about what a comparable layout will look like. I wouldn't normally want to exceed 1,500 words in a single hub.
since i haven't put up a hub yet what is an extreme hub makeover and how do I post to anything at all when i do finish,
Here is the forum. Click on "post a new topic," then write your post, and preferably include a link to your newly published hub. Check out some of the previous threads to see how it works:

Okay, to start with, the features in the capsules we have are already pretty awesome, and my hat is off to the programmers for coming up with all these utilities. There is one additional feature that would be on my wish list, and that would be the option to "drag and drop" photo and map...

Hello Hubbers!I’m reaching out to inform you of an update to our product guidelines. Previously, we had indicated a preference for in-text product links over Amazon Capsules, but we are updating our preferences to Amazon Capsules over in-text product links. Here is the new language we will be...

The nice thing about the new Amazon capsule is that it displays the description text in the same size as the rest of the hub. This can be beneficial and may turn into better sales. So I reorganized one of my hubs, moving much of my text from text capsules into the Amazon description fields. This...

One or two of my hubs have fallen victim to the "does not meet quality standards" empty bubble. In one case, I imagine it is because the hub falls under the "purely personal" category, better suited to a blog. That's fine. I can move it. (It's an older hub...

Hi all! We're currently experiencing some issues with our product capsules, but we're working hard to get things up and running again as soon as possible. In the meantime, don't worry if you see a "No Amazon products found" note when trying to add a new product capsule or find that a...
