    Just joking.

    What else can I do?

    No point in checking stats.

If you think I'm being pessimistic - well yeah.  I'm a Brit - it's what we do.  We don't do success.

Think Eeyore.  "I knew it would come to this. No one likes me anyway.  I'll just sit here in this damp corner of the internet while they all go and look at Youtube."

Anyway.  I'm a Brit.  We like failure.

For the first time since joining I have none from the UK in 24 hours.  My fellow countrymen have deserted me.  Bastards.

My traffic is up 25% from yesterday.  It has been low for the past few days, but today i have quite a bit more in google traffic.

      Eeyore brightened visibly.

      And then slumped again.

"It's the internet" he thought.  "I wonder what Owl thinks".

I've slumped with each of the new algo updates - a hub that was getting 130 hits a day is now getting 30. Others that were getting 30 a day are now getting 30 a week. What upsets me a tad is that some are really useful with a lively following and 30 or more comments from outsiders who found them useful.

          Ah well

LOL  True.  I only average 2-3 hundred hits a day.

"Things aint what they use to be."

It has all gone a bit, what's the game where you drop sticks into the water and watch them float under the bridge?

Ah Christopher Robin says it is called 'Poohsticks.'

"So...one day Pooh and Piglet and Rabbit and Roo are all standing on the bridge playing Poohsticks. They all drop their sticks in the water when Rabbit says "Go!", and then run across to the other side of the bridge to see which stick is the winner. It takes ages though, because the river is only going very slowly."

      Whoops, my bad.

A reader?  My God, it's been so long.  Now if I can just get you to read all my hubs 50 times and buy some stuff as well.

I have noticed the traffic slowing down, then again...I haven't been on the hubs as much the last few days.

Now that you mention it, Mark, I have noticed a teeny-tiny dip in traffic.  It's really just the slightest of a sliver of a difference.  I'm sure there's no need for me even to bring it up, really.  Just overreacting, I guess!  In the morning, I'm sure all will be restored, and this itsy-bitsy hiccup will be nothing more than a faint memory!  wink

Stiff upper lip and all that.  Just noticed someone from the UK has visited me.  Probably a wind up.

It's probably just a blip, something to do with the weather I expect.  Or maybe something really good on the telly.

Eh, that was me, using a proxy.  (j/k)

I do think the weather has had a serious impact on my traffic, and probably yours, too.  There's weather all over the place lately.  Come to think of it, there's an awful lot of televisions around, too.  Those are both sound theories.

Well proxy or not - damn decent of you.

I'm going to put it down to the weather and hope that it improves by Saturday.

Or else I'll need to write another 400 hubs to make up for the slight loss of visitors.  With the new quality guidelines I could have them done by Tuesday.

I say old chap are you getting into a bit of a funk! Just remember that there will be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover and all your traffic will return once more!

Lol - you know it's a bit of a sticky wicket when the Vera Lynn starts up.

I am fairly sure that unless Google come round, punch me in the face and steal my computer they can't make my traffic any worse.

On that basis - there's hope for the future.

Aren't there two guys in black suits and shades just about to ring on your doorbell - is Ewbie about to be tortured for his laptop and the last of his traffic?

Listen, I can stand anything.. apart from pain.  They can have my one UK visit.  And my French one.

Incidentally - if there are any new members reading this - Google don't really come round and beat up hubbers.  It's a great place to write and quite safe.

As long as you stay out of those dark niches.

What's wrong with the traffic? Is there some sort of caution light still in place?

Hmmm let's see - my traffic has fallen by 50% since the algo change and I don't see any chance of it going back up.
