I assume we all love to write, but what with the Google 'adjustments,' it seems there's an implied mass exodus. Or perhaps all the grumbling going on is simply the yearly cycle of discontent. Folks crave the attention at times. Hell, so do I.
This isn't exactly a rant, although I miss the sense of community that used to blossom here in the forums.
Oh, if you decide to leave this site, can you recommend another that pays even better and has a better sense of community?
Damn, this sounds so negative-I don't mean it that way, I am really curious how people feel.
I hate to write I failed English in 11th grade I'm not sure really why I am here. Sorry lorlie6 maybe I shouldn't post this
To be honest, this Panda thing has made me focus more on Keyword Research and writing quality Hubs - rather than seeking somewhere else to continue to create average content, I decided that creating quality content on a site I already know is better - assuming Google are being honest when they say quality will rise to the top, then I feel I will benefit over time - sure I've seen a dip of about 30% in income, but long term I would hope that this will improve.
A dip of 30% of income here on Hubpages for an average hubber is not much to worry about. I've seen a drop of 80% of my Hubpages income from my ebay and amazon sales hubs and virtually all of my adsense income is gone from this site and all of my clickbank income generated from here is non existent.
I'm not leaving the community but I'm certainly not going to contribute any more content until this site recovers, and I think it will in a year or so, at least I hope it does.
I was earning close to $600 a month here and now thats down to about $90 which includes the HP ad program. Funny thing is that I have seen a 200% increase in revenue from my own blogs and websites so I'm actually earning more post Panda.
You see, well researched evergreen hubs that give away everything including the kitchen sink leave litte incentive for searchers to click away through an adsense ad. This is great for the HP ad program which they share with a couple hundred thousand hubbers but it will generate ZERO adsense income for the hubber that took the time to write it.
I wrote a hub about 18 months ago that spelled out how I earn money online and the key to that hub has not changed. Diversification will keep you afloat no matter what changes are thrown at you. Working your own niche blogs until they are earning a dollar a day and then moving on to the next one and repeating until you are earning an income you can LIVE ON is how you should be spending your time online if you're looking for an income. If you're looking to meet new friends and waste a whole lot of time then Hubpages is the perfect place since there are a whole lot of people here doing the same thing.
Sorry if that sounds negative but you really need to see things in perspective and it is what it is.
Ya your kind of a Bi- type of guy anyway lol thats scarey
And, whatever gave you that idea Woodsmenspost?
Your the but plugger so whats your point ,its ok if your gay I guess
What has that got to do with this thread?? Nothing...
I first came here for the writing. Then I found out one could also make money and friends and do all sorts of things I never imagined.
Now... I'm just looking to recruit a few singers.

I love to write, but when I do it only for the love of writing it's for an intended reader. Writing online is for the money, er, was for the money.
I love to write, but am still not happy that I am suddenly not earning so much money for doing it!
But I will continue to write, but maybe more on my own blogs and other sites
I am here for both-- mor to share, and also to enjoy the hopeful improvement of my writing.
but again, (sorry hit something I shouldn't have! the dip in money is a bit hard, still I have found that because of that dip my blogs seem to be doing well.
You two ought to be ashamed! You know who you are.
Anyway, people, great ideas to ponder. In my 22 months here, I have earned a grand total of $27.42. I'm a high roller you see, so all that cash is my sole purpose here at hubpages. Only problem for me is that I won't get paid by Google for approximately 10 years. I can wait.
In the intermittent period, I write here for pure sh*ts and grins!
Well, I do have a couple of depressing, funny, and a tad of non-fiction esp.true crime.
So, in the end, I am also jonesing for some bils, but if I can
t gather the oodles of money they owe me, I think I'll stick very, very close to the mailbox.
Now I'm making more with HP ads than Google adsense but I still need to be concerned with traffic from Google?
I've been submitting some hubs to Bing and yahoo and pinging some.
Of course I want the money but I like to write as well.
I came here for money. That is still my aim, well dream, but in the meantime this is a great place to learn how to write... and all that other stuff like keywords and so on.
Obviously it's for the love of writing since I haven't even hit pay-out yet!
I enjoy writing when I have the time and can focus, but my current priorities have changed and I'm going back full time into the classroom within the next few weeks. I can't sit all day at a computer..
Money took a nose dive right when I was actually starting to make some! Adsense for April was desperately pathetic.
I'm just here to write.
I use it as a form of therapy. Therefore, most of my hubs are created when I am either very sad, or very happy.
I've been here for well over a year and I think I've racked up about three or four dollars...so I'm definitely not here for the money!
Hey Wendi-you realize you're one of the classiest dames here on HP, don't you? I really mean that.
L,
L
I was here to write, then I got caught up in the money and that fizzled like champagne after the cork pops. Lately, I've been to smashed to write, but here I am with a new topic all saved and ready for the words, so I guess I'm back to being here to write.

Can you remember what it was like when you first started to write Hubs? Before you read this rambly post - please know that I am not a newbie trying to suck you dry for information without doing any of the work myself. What I'm interested in is how you got through the first few months? How did you...

Hi everyone. I've been putting some work in writing quality articles the last few months, all my articles are approved as featured but earnings are still pretty low. I have earned a total of $1+ in two months, and with that speed it will take years to reach checkout. I have both Hubpages and...

Hi,I've signed up and am ready to start making hubs in my specialised subject, but I was wondering what the earning potential of hubbig (if that's a word) actually is. I realise it all depends on how attractive your pages are and how good they are etc, but what are people actually earning? I am not...

Since Google AdSense hasn't approved me, my hubs aren't earning anything from anywhere. I've been told that ads show up on my page but that they belong to hubpages and I won't get paid for those. I guess hubpages is earning money off my hubs but I am not. Is this the case? I have other hubs I would...

Many people writing different things. But I and I'm sure that many other people would like to know the potential of hubpages. Thanks for answers.

I was wondering if there are many writers earning more than $100 a week? Consistently. Some people just write for their own pleasure, but others write in order to earn money. There are different ways to get your work out there, some pay whilst others do not. What are your experiences with being paid...
