I joined hubpages 11 days ago. I have setup Google adsense for my hubpages successfully and I have a valid paypal account.
I have linked these for the HubPages ad program. However I am unable to sumbit my tax information.
Below are the details:
1. I am a citizen of India
2. Currently in USA, Dallas, Texas on a L1-Blanket visa (specialized category). This is treated as a non-resident alien.
3. My primary earning is as a Software Engineer deputed by my parent company
4. I did some googling on this topic and I came to know that I need to submit the W8-benefitiary (W8BEN) at hubpages
5. When I try to sumbit my form, I am not seeing an option to specify myself as an individual entity. The radio button is disabled.
Is there any other form i need to submit as proof for my tax information?
I do have the 2010 federal return from IRS, USA.
Please see the HubPages tax FAQ, which references your question (http://hubpages.com/faq/#hpads-edit-tax-information).
"Why is the 'Individual' option not available for Form W8-BEN?
Given the type of revenue you earn through the HubPages Ad Program, the Internal Revenue Service Form W8-BEN instructions ask non-U.S. individuals to complete Form 8233 in order to claim a tax treaty exemption from withholding."
