I joined on HubPages 4 weeks back. I am enjoying being on HubPages and meeting many great fellow hubbers everyday. Yesterday when I was checking my emails, surprisingly I found an email from a reader about one of my hub, saying thanks.

He said "This is excellent information that I haven't been able to find anywhere else, so thank you so much for writing these!" and he asked a couple of help on the matter. The hub was about document password encryption methods and related stuffs - bit more technical. I was so happy to see that email and felt as I rewarded for my article.

This may not be an unusual thing for you great hubbers out there who would have received many such email. However as a newbie on HubPages, this really gives me motivation and inspiration to go ahead.

I wonder if you guys also have such stories to share, if so it would be interesting.

Yes it's great when you get a response like that, the best I have had was an offer from a Chinese company who wanted to do business with me with one of the products that I promote.
I was stunned, when you write you think no one is ever going to read your stuff, but when this happens it just blows you away.
      Good for you.

That is nice. It's always nice to know your work actually does help others.
I've received some great emails regarding some of my hubs, and it's always appreciated. One was from a teacher in South Africa who asked permission to use one of my hubs for her newsletter. Another one I had to ask permission to use a photo for a songwriter/producer and heard from the Public Relations person about how happy they were with the hub's content. I was thrilled. We never know who is going to find our hubs. These were both from other countries.

    Happy hubbing and welcome. smile

I once got a comment on a hub I wrote on how to bend electrical conduit (a common task for electricians) from a student in electrician school.  He thanked me for the hub, saying it was much clearer than his textbook and that he would probably check it again as he had a test coming up.

A few days later he returned to let me know he had aced the test and thanked me again.  You're right - comments like this are worth far more than the few $ the hub earns from adsense.

O yes smile those ones are wonderful and make the work worthwhile then - there are proposals and other unsavory requests tongue lol

Be careful - I replied to a few of these - stupidly revealing my personal email address - I now get shedloads of spam junkmail.

that is true, however I am using a separate email for HubPages, not my personal email.

It is always great to hear from readers. I have had several emails from others outside of Hubpages, and they are generally appreciative of my posts. So it's safe to say that others are also receiving emails from the outside and that is always a good thing.

Congrats on gaining a true fan!

When I did my hubs 'Ten Signs You Are Depressed' & 'The Final Battle of Life', I did receive  few emails thanking me for explaining what a person goes through when they are depressed.
