Before joining hubpages ad program I was happily watching my earnings go up with google adsense. I have more hubs now but my earnings are now down to practically nothing! Could somebody explain this to me and what I can do to rectify the situation.
Thanks very much!
As the AdSense ads are replaced by HP ads, your earnings drop is expected. Even HubPages has said that.
There is nothing you can do to increase your AdSense earnings except disabling the HP ads. But you should also analyze your stats. Are you earning consistently with AdSense? Is AdSense+ HP ads less or more than with just AdSense? Is AdSense consistent or HP+AdSense?
I have enjoyed HP ads as I used to get AdSense clicks rarely. Earning from HP ads is consistent. Even if it is only few dimes, it adds up and increases with the traffic.
All you can do is try each for a trial period and see which works best for you. I've tried Hubads but have now switched back to AdSense. I suggest you give it a month before you switch as Hubads may take a few days to 'bed in'. However, a lot of people have found Hubads better than Adsense.
Hang on... is this an either-or thing? For some reason I thought you could have HP ads and AdSense.
I'm glad I haven't gotten around to enabling HP ads if it's one or the other.
You earn from both but most people say their Adsense earnings drop after signing up for HPAds. I have both right now and I am earning from both.
It is *not* an either or thing, Jeff. you can have both. mnost people do.
I dont use HP Adds because it droped my Adsense when I enabled it. I am thinking as soon as I reach payout I will enable it again.
With HP Ads on your total earnings should be better, but your adsense earnings (in your personal adsense account) will go down because you are getting paid by HubPages for locations that were previously paid directly by AdSense.
I know this is a little confusing, but it's best to look at your total earnings to see if you are making more with HP ads and Adsense or just adsense alone.
Chaya and all,
I know that there are threads all over the Hub Pages forums in relation to Adsense earnings, HP ad programme earnings and the switch to new domains on HP. There is no getting away from the fact that to one extent or another, every single one of us will know a unique experience, be that for good or (sadly, in some instances) for bad.
Just like anyone else, I can only speak for myself and, although I am not about to breach Google's TOS by giving inappropriate details, I can state in all certainty that since I have switched to HP ads and my own subdomain, I am knowing considerably higher traffic and slightly higher revenue generation.
I see from the HP blog that further development is being made to improve ad quality. This may well lead to improvement in click through ratios and increased revenue generation. It's not a time for counting chickens, it's time for having faith and continuing to produce quality material with a trust and belief that the rewards can and will follow in due course.
(Klarawieck - here's to 2 cents tomorrow and imagine what will happen if you double it every day! )
Thank you Gordon. I am beginning to realize this because I found that my earnings weren't quite what I was expecting, as I had heard from HP that my HPAD earnings should make up for any losses from AdSense, but that did not happen for me. I thought I was doing something wrong, but now I see that it is different for everyone. I am a little scared to switch back to AdSense completely, but I may try it to see if that is the path for me.

I've heard people talk about turning off Adsense to earn more from the Hubpages program, but I'm really confused about how this works. Does HubPages pay better than Adsense? I thought Adsense was required to make money on HubPages and the two incomes were added up in your daily earnings. Can...

I think it is related to images being used for the HUB ads and Google ads. When I turned off the Hub ads my adsense revenue rose significantly. I think it is because the block of adsense ads to the right of the column of text below the title returned to text based rather than image based. I think...

So, since Panda (or since the HP ads thing came out and I signed up for it... I can't really tell which given I'm mainly too lazy to look very hard into it)... my earnings have all transferred to HP ads and only a trickle of Adsense.Do HP ads populate INSTEAD of adsense, but not totally (since I am...

How do your Adsense earnings compare to your Hubpages ads program earnings?I'm pretty new here, and have made about .50 in the hubpages ads program, but no more than .01 in my Google adsense account. Is this normal? I seem to have Adsense enabled, am posting on allowed topics, etc... How does your...

Okay-- here's my question. Stopped Hubpages ad program for experimentation. Within 2 hours, Adsense was finally paying decent! Was able to actually receive payment in one month because I hit the threshold of Adsense of $100.00. Super psyched finally! Last 3 days, nothing! Absolutely...

First, a little about my hubpages account. I am very new on hubpages. I've only been here for just over a week. I have 9 submitted articles 8 of which were featured immediately and 3 were added to niche sites. The only one that wasnt immediately featured will be resubmitted...
