A quick hello while on the road

   Hey, gang!  I'm just about at the halfway point of my road trip, currently kicking back a the Goddess Temple dedicated to Sekhmet in Cactus Springs, NV.  The full moon ceremony tonight should rock.
   
   The Alchemy conference last weekend was mind-blowing.  And next weekend, when I'm back in Vegas, I'll get to see a friend of mine headlining at one of the casinos! 
   
   I can't believe the internet connection has hung in there this long, so I'm going to get off the net before it decides to reverse its good graces.

      You're really making me miss Vegas...I'm going to have to head back there sometime soon. Who is your friend that's headlining at a casino? That's pretty sweet...always good to have connections at some casinos.

         Jeff McBride, playing at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino through Thanksgiving.  Shows are nightly except for Tuesdays.  And on Friday and Saturday nights, Jeff throws an after-party in the casino where he gets magician friends of his to drop in and do close-up magic and special performances.

   Okay, this is too hysterical not to share....
   
   So, today we're in Pahrump, buying more tea light candles because we've had a few nights of rituals in the goddess temple and we've depleted the stash on hand.  We're at the Wal-mart.  As we are paying, I say to my friend, "okay, errands done, now on to lunch."  And the really friendly lady who was our cashier asks where we plan to eat.  We say we don't know, and she asks if we'd like a recommendation.  Of course!
   
   She starts to give us directions, and the next cashier over says "are you sending them to the brothel?"  Turns out some of the best lunch to be had in Pahrump is over at Sherrie's Ranch, and they give you a free overview tour of the place after you are done eating.
   
   Great sandwiches at really reasonable prices and the atmosphere and tour were something you just don't find anywhere else.  It's been about eight hours since lunch, and we're still laughing about it.

   Hey, Hub-gang!
   
   I'm out of the barren desert and back in Vegas for the final weekend of my trip.  Tonight's events include seeing my friend's magic show and hanging out for the afterparty, which will actually be broadcast streaming online!
   
   You can see the party and watch close-up magic acts at http://streetofcards.tv by tuning in to the "Wonderground" broadcast at 10pm Pacific time.  There'll be a special midnight performance and a costume contest.
   
   I'll be wandering around looking something like this but with eyeglasses, so if you tune in, you may be able to spot me.
   
   By the way, I'd like to thank the neighbors of the friends we are staying with for running no less than four unsecure wireless networks in the area, as it's making it really easy for us to get online...LOL.
