I was just thinking about how and when do you consider yourself an expert on something? I was thinking about all the Craiglist hubs I've done and how much I know about Craigslist from experience but I'm not quite sure I could myself an "expert" yet. When do you consider yourself an expert on something?
When people are willing to pay you for what you know and they are happy with the results.
When you are very good at solving people's problem in your interested proffessional field.
Sounds like you could probably claim expert status now. There will always be people who know more than you do. Don't let that stop you. I went to a couple presentations by Barbara Winter a couple years ago, one of which was "Establishing Yourself as an Expert". She blogs, has a book, webinars, and CDs. Check her out. I have 2 hubs I wrote about her presentations.
When a large number of other people who are not you friends or family consider you an expert and say so spontaneously.

How comfortable are you to call yourself a writer?I've noticed when socializing that people expect me to have published a book if I'm calling myself a writer. It leaves me feeling awkward, then annoyed at myself not being more confident in myself.

This is another thing that makes me confused these days. I feel hesitant to call myself as an "author" though HP says I am an author as indicated on my profile. For me, being an author needs something more than I can't explain. Maybe, someone who published a book.
