It's probably due to it's a holiday in the US and some parts of Canada today. Mine are a bit lower than normal but higher than the weekend.

I sure hope so. It seems pretty low for that though. We will see what tomorrow brings though

I think there might have been another Panda update. My new subdomain has trebled in views today, and there is still 7 hours to go. (good news for me, for a change!)

I just replied to Stacie's post. But, seeing that all of you have changes it could be something and yes Izzy I hope its good news for you. You've waited far too long

That's good news- Hopefully the main account will follow suit - both my accounts seem to have survived the update if that is what it is!

My traffic has picked up a bit.  But my earnings are down for the same period!  LOL!  Go figure!

You're cpm will be way down I suppose, like mine will be tomorrow when I check Hubads earnings. It also goes down when earnings go up (well nearly always).

Fingers crossed for you too, RG.  (I'd think some kind of change might be a better sign than no change at all...   maybe   hmm  Maybe some kind of good traffic shake-up is about to kick in for you and Izzy ).   I know I'm far from the only on here who thinks you folks both deserve better than what's gone on with the whole "sandbox thing" over the last several months.

I'm sure both Izzy and I appreciate your good wishes, Lisa!  I don't depend on my writing here for my sole means of income as Izzy does, so it's surely  been more of a hardship for her.  And as you noted, almost anything positive in the way of traffic is welcomed at this point!  smile

My traffic was huge today.....but there's a reason for that, twas my day of birth, and there is a facebook group dedicated to hubpages promotion that went all out for me.

Other than today...my traffic has still been up, but my earnings have been DOWN.

I suspect that my earnings are down due to advertisers paying less this time of year than they do at other times of year.  Folks are typically still recovering from spending sprees over the holidays.

Sorry for folks with bad traffic.  I've seen SEVERAL folks talking about bad traffic just today - folks that haven't been having that problem until recently.

I'm likely to wind up there again too...and if I do, it's not going to affect my activity, I'll just write more on Info Barrel, and maybe that whizzley thingo I keep hearing about, and joined.

I read somewhere that even the retail industry gets consistent reports of 'downtime' traffic on weekends smile I think it's sort of normal since it's a regular event tongue lol smile

  10. revortay1 profile image59
    revortay1posted 11 years ago

I don't believe it was the weekend. I do normally see a small drop on the weekend but it's continuing into today. I'm down to about 5-10% of my normal traffic. and it wasn't a slow decline it was a sudden drop.

I do believe i have been sandboxed. I have all of the characteristics of it however there is absolutely no reason I can think of for this happening?

        1. sofs profile image78
sofsposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I don't think anyone has actually understood it... there are theories floating around from too much back linking to poor writing... but none of them seem to fit all hmm  It does look like you are sandboxed. I can tell you this when I came out of it my traffic increased by four times.. and is steadily improving... wish you luck.

My hub views are up. And, one of my hubs is approaching a 100 score at 91. I am pleased that my most popular hub is approaching 13,000 views! With 60 to 100 views every day. But, still not making any money.

Has anyone checked their page load times?  I haven't been able to figure out what's been going on with my traffic so I've been checking everything.  I have quite a few page 1 and 2 rankings but the traffic to them isn't reflecting what would be expected.  Then I checked my page load and drop off percents and it's horrible.  Apparently my pages are taking 8.69 seconds to load.  Theoretically speaking, most people will not wait past an 8 second load time.  The faster a page loads, the less the people "drop off."  I have a 98% drop off rate.  Now I'm amazed that I have any traffic at all.

Why is it taking so long for pages to load?

    1. IzzyM profile image87
IzzyMposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I haven't actually checked load times, but I did quickly check your top 2 hot hubs (sorry I didn't think to take the time to read them and comment, but I will soon) and they loaded really quickly, which you know is amazing really because I have a slow internet access.

So if load is slow it's another issue.

      1. Terri Meredith profile image69
Terri Meredithposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I haven't had trouble loading anyone's pages once on the site.  The load time is from analytics and I had a friend try one and it took forever for her to load.  so I'm not sure what's going on

        1. IzzyM profile image87
IzzyMposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Google have a cheek to moan about load times anyway, when my internet slows down to dial-up speed or less, as it does once a month or so, I can't even load their poxy search engine!

But I can still load Bing, Yahoo, Duckduckgo etc.

          And do!

          1. Terri Meredith profile image69
Terri Meredithposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I'm mainly going by what analytics is saying.  8.69 load times out of the total number of page views just a tad under 98% drop offs.  And all new visitors are bouncing...only off by a couple percent.  That's usually an indication that they probably aren't even seeing the page considering the load time and drop offs.

Very weird.  And maybe not connected at all but I can't use my title tuner.  won't load.  keeps timing out.   and my link suggestions thingy doesn't suggest.

            1. IzzyM profile image87
IzzyMposted 11 years agoin reply to this

The title tuner only picks up on words used in the search terms used to find your hubs.

So if that loads, look and see for yourself the search terms people are using to reach you.

It's there in Analytics, but handily it is on your hubs too.

              Stats ~> keywords.

You use your own common sense to see whether or not a title change will help smile
