Postcards and HubPages

Halloween is one of the hottest holidays to give out postcards. Below are Halloween postcards and tips on how to post them on HubPages. If you are looking to buy postcards, Zazzle has thousands of designs and categories for postcards.

For shopkeepers, Squidoo was the number one place to post Zazzle print on demand products besides your own blog or website. It was at one time the only social network site that you could have many, many gift products on one article.

Squidoo no longer exist and was acquired by HubPages. All those writers who came from Squidoo and choose to do so have had their articles transferred here on September 2014. Different rules and platform to follow on this site and for that this article is written more for my former Squid friends. But also applies to everyone who wants to know how to add your Zazzle products to promote on HubPages.

A hub (article) only allows a two link per domain. Amazon is an exception when using the capsule. But for everything else there is only a two link limit to that site. In this case it would be Zazzle.

Below are Halloween postcards that you can buy and tips on how to post them on HubPages for the shopkeeper or as an associate.

How to Show Zazzle Products on HubPages

Two different ways are shown below

Featuring a Postcard

Above shows the one way to feature a postcard on HubPages. Using the photo capsule, you would click on the Upload button for a picture and call it out in the source with the link. In this case you would download the image of the card and upload it in the photo capsule.

You can also click on Import and it will take the image directly from the site when adding the image URL. Then you would follow through with the same directions of name and the link in the source box.

Either way works. I usually download the images to my computer and rename them before uploading them in the photo capsule.

Below is how it looks on HubPages with the clickable link after "Source:"

Three Ways of Promoting Zazzle

The embedded script codes will not work here. Therefore the only way to show where a person can purchase a postcard is through the link.

  1. The first way as shown here is through the photo capsule and you would add the link to the Source bar.
  2. The second way to link to your Zazzle postcards or any other gifts that you would like to promote here is add the link in the text capsule.
  3. Third way which is only shown in the Amazon link at the bottom of this page is to use the link capsule and add the link to your Zazzle products.

Promoting Postcards by Step Two

In this case I am promoting Halloween Postcards on Zazzle. I can either promote Zazzle postcards as a whole with a link that includes my associate ID added to it. This would lead the prospective buyer to the site to look through all the postcards for this holiday. Or I can include my shop that displays items for this holiday. This would take the person viewing directly there to my shop.

Either way my associate ID is added. If the person enters Zazzle on that link, he or she can go anywhere on this online print on demand shopping site and when the customer makes a purchase, I would get credit for it because of my ID link.

Since I do want to show the many Halloween postcards within my shop, I place them all together in one photo. Instead of placing a link in the Source part I want to add it to the text capsule.

I do find that this way it does show up better then in the Source part of the photo capsule. I then have the choice to make the link bold or larger then the paragraph text. This is shown below after the photo.

Popular on Zazzle

Halloween postcards are very popular and as a Zazzle shopkeeper, I can vouch for that. Postcards are popular not just for Halloween, but all the time. Postcards outnumber all other products that I have sold on Zazzle by 2 to 1.

One of the reasons is that postcards on Zazzle are inexpensive. When buying them in bulk, the customer can get them for as much as 35 cents less per card. Zazzle offers many specials. If the customer finds it at the right time, then they can save 50% off postcards and still get the bulk discount. As a shopkeeper, I have made as little as eight cents on one card sold. But it is a nice feeling when someone buys postcards in bulk of 50, 100, 200 or more. The most that I have sold from one order (so far) is 200 postcards.

This is for anyone who wants to promote any products

I have been wondering about how to promote Zazzle here. I have seen one other person who seems to be doing this successfully, too.

WebMarketingPro I quit Allposters when they made that change a few years ago that if you don't make their min. amount then you don't get paid.

Brite-Ideas Thank you on both. I have an interesting story about the pets here. The first one is my dog in camouflage. The others are pets that were shared with me from Hubbers. Though none were in costume. I did that.

Thanks so much for these great suggestions. I'm about to sign up for Zazzle too, and I love your examples on how to promote it here. This will also help with my Halloween posters lenses that right now have too many Allposters links that I will have to remove. So adding some Zazzle cards will help.

@SandyMertens: Great, sorry for my tardy reply. I've been up to my eyeballs in lenses. I can hardly see straight. Hmmmm.... I'm not sure if that makes sense... Thanks for the advice. I'm about to see if I can make it work on a new lens. I have the button anyway. Thanks for the help!

@snrklz: Yes snrkiz you can do that. Create you own button has has"View Item" and place it in a photo sharing site, like Photobucket. Then replace the "Buy Now" buttons with "View Item."

This is certainly a helpful tool for Zazzlers doing Squidoo lenses. I fought with the code for quite awhile. I was taking advice from several different lenses & tweaking a bit. Like you, I had wanted to not have a border. I wasn't aware that you could use those tools without the border. Can you eliminate the Buy button too? I would rather it reads VIEW ITEM. Great lens.

Nice display of Halloween postcards. I used to sell the really old ones on eBay and Halloween was a big money maker when you could find them in good condition.
