   yes, we have to be stupid to think we are the only game in the entire universe. I believe we do not have the capability to reach them yet but maybe someday.

   Absolutely yes. I have firsthand knowledge and experience of the other side of death. I have been there and will definitely be exploring everywhere in the universe with the event that happened on August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning GOD shown me in a vision of the other side of death. It is glorious. I do not believe life exists in the universe. I know that life exists in the universe.

   Yes, why would we be the only life form?
   Just because we haven't found them yet is not a reason for it not to exist.
   The universe is so big, there has to be more.
   Maybe other life forms have discovered us, but chosen to stay away from us. In which case they are wise creatures

   Absolutely just check the Hubble galaxy cluster photos thousands of galaxies in the visible universe just imagine how many more galaxies are out there in the non visible universe.

   Certainly do. And I don’t think it’s all that complex either, (not the other life forms, the question of their existence ;-)
   
   To me, it’s like when you’re catching that pre-dawn business flight. You’re on schedule, yet   on the way to the airport the cabbie runs all the red lights. When you ask why he considers this an acceptable way to drive, you get, “Hey, it’s 2am pal, who’s gonna be comin’ the other way?”
   
   My feeling is that since you’re out there on the road, and the cabbie’s out there, there’s a fairly significant chance that someone else is out there as well.
   
   So too, with other life in the universe. We’re here, the universe is way too big for us to seriously believe that we alone have evolved into an intelligent life-form, so they’re out there too.
   
   To complete the cab analogy, the question isn’t whether or not there are other forms of life sharing the Universal Highway. The only question is “when will we run into each other...”

   Yes I do. Milky way is just one galaxy of thousands or even millions. Let's just say we are the only lifeform in this galaxy, the others definitely have inhabitants as well.

   There are possibly hundreds of thousands of planets that would support life, most of which would be more intelligent than we are, given the age of their planet in comparison to our own.
   
   The Isaac Asimov book Extra Terrestrial Civilisations is an excellent read, albeit written a few decades ago

    yes defanatly  religious people who believe we are the only life form in space is just plain ignorant
    
    there is billions of stars out there and each one has its own solar system.
    
    if we ever do find life out there or if we have the government wouldn't tell anybody in fear of all these religious nuts going crazy and crying because there so called creationism believe as just been unfoiled
    
    it makes me laugh when they say there is no such thing as aliens  but there worship a book that doesn't contain one shred of evidence its genuine.
    
    even if a tiny bit of living bacteria is found out there religion is going to be boycotted

    Thank you everyone for your answers. Like most of you, I also believe life is abundant in the universe. Neon, I've often considered what contains the universe and then what contains that and so on. Or maybe the universe isn't contained at all and exists in a form that we can't even fathom. I love getting lost in the Hubble photos. Joan, I wouldn't blame other life forms for avoiding us. We're a very parasitic species, unfortunately. And Dreatech, sometimes I wonder

    Statistically there is a great chance that there is life elsewhere. Thousands up on thousands of galaxies are in the VISIBLE universe. Somewhere, life has to have evolved to some extent. The question is, what kind of life?

    Absolutely, with the incredible number of galaxies known and unknown each comprised of billions of stars that also might have other non significant chunks of rock orbiting around them in the right zone to be habitable, contain water etc. of course life should exist from pure probability.

    Of course...I think it would be daft to even consider the notion that we are the only, so called, 'intelligent' life out there. 'Out There' is so vast and unexplorable, we can only imagine what else, and, who else is out there. Just because we have yet to find them, or they to find us, doesn't mean theres not milions, billions even, of planets out there containing life, they could even be wondering about the possibility of us as we wonder about the possibility of them.
    
    I belive we will cross paths at some point in the future, though knowing the human race, we'll probably screw that up just like in the movies!

    Of course - I think it would very naive to think that we've the only civilisation when there is so much "out there" that we have no knowledge about.
