What do THE MAJORITY of Americans ADORE in our culture and society? Please keep answers
presentable & clean, thank you.
I wanted to just say: Beer, bacon and bikinis, but apparently that answer was not long enough!
That's okay, your answer is good and succinct!
You would have to drink a lot of beer to want to see me in a bikini! But we could share the bacon. Or were you the one wanting to wear the bikini???
The majority of Americans adore celebrities, sports, shopping, and eating out. They furthermore love to party and live life to the fullest. They enjoy being entertained either through movies, sports, and/or television. They also want to be the best at what they do. They want to win and succeed, especially in their careers and socioeconomically. They love THAT AMERICAN DREAM of socioeconomic affluence-nice house, nice cars, enough money to live w/o struggling and/or budgeting. They especially love people who rise from humble beginning to become inordinately successful!
Money, fame, and consumption. People in the US seem to want to get rich without working for it, be famous for doing nothing, and have a lot of things.
Present company excepted, of course.
I adore remote controls - so I don't have to get up off my lazy butt to change the channel when they talk about any of the Kardashians or Trumps.
I adore the freedom to tell people to go away and leave me alone.
I adore cheap gas prices so I can afford to travel a bit and see more of the United States.
I adore what few freedoms we still have, I guess. And bacon. I love bacon too.
I have a lot of American friends and most Americans I've met are very friendly. I think in American culture, materialism is a big thing - even religious families pride themselves on a large home, a nice car and maybe a chunk of land. Having these things is very important to Americans (not just Americans though of course). I'd also say having fun is an important part of their culture, something I could get used to! I'm going to New York for New Years' this year, very excited about it. Lovely country.
That depends on which generation you ask.
Millennial = Themselves
Gen X = Possessions and celebrities
Baby Boomer = Fast food, Jesus, Microsoft, and shorts & t-shirts
Silent Gen = The Troops
"Great" Gen = Riding mowers and hard work
Lost Gen = (gone now; but for honorable mention) Warm water, bathtubs and Faulkner
