In a normal day, the average person should consume around 8 cups of water. Normal for you could be different though, for example, if you are an athlete you probably should be consuming more than the recommended 8 cups.

I always try to consume at least a gallon a day. I do a lot of weightlifting and sweat a ton in the summer, so I try to stay as hydrated as possible.

I drink about 3 litres of water daily. I do believe that it should be gauged on how thirty you are and monitoring your urine. It tells whether or not you are required to drink more or less.

I try to drink three cups of water each day. Sometimes I need more, and sometimes I need less. Summer normally requires 4 cups.

Despite what we always hear about how we should drink about eight glasses of water a day, I think it varies from person to person. Of course there are illnesses that are associated with not drinking enough water, for example gall stones and kidney stones, but I think as long as you try to drink a glass of water with each of your meals and again when you are thirsty then I think you should be fine.
