Are you looking for different ways to save the environment other than the usual ones? I mean there's recycling, walking not driving, taking the train not the plane, composting, planting trees, having more indoor and outdoor plants, insulating your home, investing in solar panels, making works of art from garbage etc etc etc.

    Interesting ways? Difficult ways!!!

Buy only local food for a week, then two, three, six?
Buy goods with no plastic packaging at all.
Do not buy anything new for a month.
    Have an electricity free day.
Reduce your energy bills by 1% then 2% then 5% and give the savings to a green charity.

Buy a worm-farm (even a small one is good) and recycle the kitchen scraps - the 'worm-tea' and the soil produced are brilliant on the garden, so feeding the vegetables you grow is organic, too.

When you finish using any electrical appliances, including the washing-machine and the TV, turn them off at the wall.

Hang the washing out in the sun when possible and save using the drier.

Every little bit of thoughtfulness helps.

Never dwell on, or fight against, pollution. What your attention is fixed upon you tend to get more of. Focus, instead upon pristine nature.

Boycott corporations -- all of them! Spread the word. But focus on buying local and natural. Forget packaged anything. Bicycle and walk, whenever possible not to use your car; and, if possible, get rid of your car.

Boycott government. Take full responsibility for your own destiny. Place compassion back into the hands of the individual -- not the Nanny State. But focus on individual responsibility and not government.

Get your own water tanks!!! Why pay the big money to the big company for rain water??? Put some good filters in for your drinking water and have a separate water tank for your garden.

Grow your own vegetable and fruits and exchange with your neighbours and friends for what you don't have! Natural, organic and chemical free.

If you have enough land, have your own hens for the free range eggs.

Most definitely install some solar panels. I never have to turn my electric booster on for hot water in summer when I am in my country house. It feels so good in the shower when you know the beautiful sun warms up your water which is now warming your skin. Priceless.
