What makes people comment negatively, disparagingly, and viciously on hubs, oftentimes resorting to
personal attacks on the hub author?
I believe people by nature have tendencies to read with emotion. So when they feel their belief is being criticized, they can't see the other person's viewpoint. In order to truly read a Hub and comment on it with an open mind, one must put aside their own opinion and read it through the writer's perspective. Not all of us are going to agree on everything. The difference is in respecting the writer for their own opinion which might be different from our own. And not read with emotion, but read with a nonjudgmental and non pre-conceived notion about the written word.
Otherwise, if we read something totally convicted with our own beliefs, we are not allowing ourselves to learn new things from others.
I think that being anonymous, on the Internet, and the lack of consequences is the reason. I believe that we can all agree that there a times that we would want to say mean or negative things to people's face, but we usuallh don't because of the consequences. The internet makes it very easy to troll.
As Wayne Dyer once said, if you squeeze a lemon, you get lemon juice "because that is whats inside". It is inside of those people. http://srit.hubpages.com/hub/Free-of-Negativity

When will altruistic people realize that their altruism makes people see them as weak, foolish, &causes them to always end up last? What makes altruists even being disdained by their own family members? Will altruists learn to say no & mean it?

What makes people want to vote for Ron Paul?I'm not asking in a politically-charged-anger-invoking way. I am still not for him, nonetheless. The fact is, I see a lot of intellectual voters and youth choosing to support him. Researching his past, I've come on things I don't feel...

It pains me to see so many highly religious people spew hate towards other religions and viewpoints. Isn't a main aspect of every religion having goodwill towards others. Most major religions do not condon hatred, but for some reason religious debates always spark the evil in people. For example, I...
