What are the illogical & fallacious, even detrimental premises regarding religious belief?  Why

should every intelligent, logical, & reasonable person should stop believing in religions, basing their beliefs upon inductive & deductive assessments?

I'd say that the same fallacies that haunt thinking behind religious belief, are actually present within so-called empirical thinking...

There's a real irony at work here. The tools of the mind - reasoning - can come to incorrect conclusions no matter the field. In fact, quite often it's a belief system that informs the 'logical' direction of scientific investigation.

At the moment, the link between consciousness and what we see as real, isn't well understood.

Well said. You're exactly right. The flaws in thinking often attributed to religious belief are common amongst all human schools of thought. It's just how the mind works. The less aware of it you are, the more prone you are to mistakes.
